Top Ten Vampire Movie Quotes

Count Dracula, Interview with the Vampire

How I love the seduction and drama of a vampire movie. There is just something about a well written and well written vampire movie that churns blood through the veins like fine wine.

Sure there is:

I, Vampire, Trilogy of blood

That’s it, I guess it is as Lestat said “Should we put out the light? And then put out the light. But once put out thy light, I cannot give it vital breath again. It needs must wither.” (Interview with the Vampire)

2006 was the year that the world saw a change in horror movies. I honestly think that we are headed back to the 80’s with the blood and gore that we see on the movie screen today. So I thought I would give you the crème de la crème of vampire movie quotes.

Look! It’s a black chicken! Get it!

This is from that 1979 funny movie “Love at first bite”. Dracula is flying by a poor African American household and is nearly caught by the family and eaten. Why did I think it deserved the number one position? It was just an out of thin air comment in the movie and un-expected.

Lestat: LOUIS! Put me in my coffin!
Claudia: I’ll put you in your coffin, father!

I know this is two quotes but they go together so well. I had to keep them together. Claudia is ready to commit vampire murder out of anger. She has just gotten Lestat to drink blood from a dead boy and it’s making him week. It just shows the rivalry between the two and the anger that Claudia has about being a vampire.

Mina Seward: I heard dogs howling. And when the dream came, it seemed the whole room was filled with mist. It was so thick, I could just see the lamp by the bed, a tiny spark in the fog. And then I saw two red eyes glaring at me. And a white livid face came down out of the mist. It came closer and closer. I felt its breath on my face and then its lips.

Does anyone have a breath mint? No really to anyone who had not sent the 1931 version of Dracula, this is kind of creepy.

Armand: I know nothing of God, or the Devil. I have never seen a vision nor learned a secret that will damn or save my soul. And as far as I know, after 400 years, I am the oldest living vampire in the world.

Can you believe two vampires arguing over if there was a God or the Devil. Here Armand stands the oldest vampire and Louis who is trying desperately to live with what he is and still feel his soul.

Here are some other good ones from Love at First Bite and Interview with the Vampire.

Dracula (1931)

Count Dracula: This is very old wine. I hope you will like it.
Renfield: Aren’t you drinking?
Count Dracula: I never drink wine.

Count Dracula: The spider spinning his web for the unwary fly… The blood is the life, Mr. Renfield.

Love at First Bite (1979)

Count Dracula: Children of the night, shut up!

Interview with the Vampire (1994)

Lestat: God, I swear you grow more like Louis each day. Soon you’ll be eating rats.
Claudia: Rats?! When did you eat rats Louis?
Louis: It was a long, long time ago. Before you were born, and I don’t recommend them.

Lestat: Evil is a point of view. God kills indiscriminately and so shall we. For no creatures under God are as we are, none so like him as ourselves.

Claudia: Goodnight sweet prince, may flights of devils wing you to your rest.

Louis: A little child she was; but also a fierce killer, now capable of the ruthless pursuit of blood with all a child’s demanding.
