Top Ten GIft Ideas for the College Girl

Clothing Shopping, M.A.C., Pjs

1. A Day at the Spa! This is one of the best things you can get a college girl! After a semester full of stress, nothing sounds better than a mud wrap and an aromatherapy massage. It rubs those finals week memories good-bye! Getting a gift certificate to a local spa is great, but if she’s homesick having a spa day together is even better!

2. Hair Essentials! An afternoon for her to revitalize her hair at the salon will put a smile on her face! Remember it may have been 4 or 5 months since she’s gotten her hair done! A color and cut to keep her looking in style with her fellow classmates would be a great gift.

3. An iPod. What better way to drown out her annoying roommate without an argument evolving, than an iPod (or other MP3 player) with headphones?

4. Expensive Make-up. A gift certificate (or items) from somewhere like M.A.C. is a wonderful idea for a gift. It’s out of her price range, so it’s a great treat. A girl always needs to look her best for those dorm parties!

5. A DVD Player. There’s not much a girl can do on a limited budget except hang around the dorms. Having a DVD player kills a lot of the boredom when she’s not studying.

6. Comfortable PJs! The clothing I wore the most at the dorms were PJs. They are comfy for when you are studying, watching movies, chatting with the other dormies, and even for those VERY early classes. So the more soft and comfy PJs a girl has, the better!

7. A Night On the Town! The average dorm girl has a very small budget, so it’s always a big treat to leave campus and have a night “out.” Gift certificates to places near campus such as a movie theater, bowling alley, miniature golf, or even a restaurant. Depending on the taste of your college girl, tickets to a local musical, play, or dinner theater are great choices!

8. Clothing!!! For a girl who loves shopping, a day of clothing shopping is great! Even if she is not much of a shopper, she will still appreciate new clothing that she might not be able to afford. Once again, gift certificates are good, but for the home-sick girl a day out at the mall together might be even better!

9. A Visit. If you live far away from her school or hometown, a trip to visit her at school is a wonderful gift! Of course, this wouldn’t be around the holiday season, but if you let her know your intentions she’ll love it!

10. Wax Melters. One of the things I missed most when I lived in the dorms is not being able to have candles or incense. Now days they have something that you can plug in and will melt candle wax without burning it. This along with different scents of wax-chunks would be a great lower budget gift!
