She was a founding member of the group The Runaways, with Lita Ford, another extremely talent artist. A musical exception. A rare breed of she talent that rocked the world. Here are my top five best Joan Jett songs. Joan, this one is for you!

1. I Love Rock N’ Roll. This song is a rock and roll anthem. For a female to sing it is beyond imagination. Well, for most imaginations. This song hit number 1 on the Billboard charts in 1982. I remember this song very well. I was a teenager. This song rocked me and gave the female generation of my age a voice. A very important, strong and sexy voice. This song made it cool to be a tough female who was cool. Bravo. It is one of the top five best Joan Jett songs of all time. This song is a timeless classic. I still hear it played on classic rock radio stations today. I love it!

2. Crimson And Clover. What a classic song. When Joan Jett added her talent to this rock song, it became a timeless rock hit. Again and again. Or, over and over. A strong song that leads it’s way down a path of fortune and gold. This hit was big and bold. It gave soft voices and strong emotions to music that is unforgettable. A very enjoyable song.

3. I Hate Myself For Loving You. This strong rock and roll song has a beat that pounds. It pounds into your brain, along with the brilliant lyrics. This is a simple song that has a simple message. Many of us can relate to this song and we have been there. Oh yeah, you better believe. That’s a fact. Jack. Anyway, this song is fun and truthful. Amazing combination, in my opinion! Well done!

4. Do You Want To Touch Me. Now, this song just puts it all out there. Do you? Yeah. A great rock and roll song that rocks. This song has the trademark Joan Jett sound and toughness, along with a sexy brilliance and simplicity. This song actually takes me on a journey, every time that I hear it. It is a fun song of release that is quite enjoyable. Yeah!

5. Little Liar. Funny, this is my very favorite Joan Jett song. It has honesty, emotion, truth, pain, love…well, it has it all, along with lots of rock and roll soul. The lyrics of this song are what get to me and they break through the toughest of hearts. “Hey, little liar, I believed in you” and we can relate. Truly. Honesty is golden. Here is song about it and it will break your heart. In a good way, I love this song. Break out the tissues.

These are my top five best Joan Jett songs. This lady left a mark in rock in rock that will forever be. I am glad. I still listen to her music and her music is still played on the radio. Joan Jett was named in the 2003 Rolling Stone magazine list of the greatest 100 guitarists of all time. She was number 87. The only other female listed was Joni Mitchell.
