Florida is known for its beautiful sandy beaches. Whether you hit the East or West coast, you will find silky sand as you step into the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean. It you are looking for kid friendly beaches, and want to know a little about each beach, you’ve come to the right place. Here are our favorite beaches you can take with the entire family.
Englewood Beach
Englewood is a more populated beach but with good reason. Located on Manasota Key, you just won’t find a more spectacular beach. Known for the boardwalks and beachfront pavilions, the amenities are perfect for the entire family. There is plenty of parking but make sure you bring coins or dollars to pay for parking.
Sanibel
Sanibel beaches are known to be some of the best beaches for finding shells. With beaches stretching for miles, Sanibel has a unique island feel that brings tourists back year after year. Once you step onto the island, the atmosphere is completely different. A very relaxed setting where people drive slow and are more prone to ride bikes than cars. One of the most popular beaches is the Lighthouse beach. Parking is limited so getting out early will ensure a parking stop.
Daytona Beach
Known as the “World’s most famous beach,” Daytona Beach can enjoy 23 miles of sandy beaches.
The sparkling waters offer swimmers a day in the sun on one of the most beautiful beaches. Take advantage of the free surf chairs as you stare out at the Atlantic Ocean. Daytona Beach offers a truly stress free beach that is kid friendly. Cars are allowed to park on the beach in certain areas. Do your research before picking your parking location.
Bonita Beach
Bonita Beach is located on the northern tip of Bonita Beach. This picturesque beach on the Gulf of Mexico offers true serenity for vacationers. The beach offers parking, restrooms, grills, tables, and even shelters. If that wasn’t enough, dive your feet into the sand and run into the majestic Gulf of Mexico.
Destin Beach
Located on the Emerald Coast, you will find exactly that: emerald waters. The area is family friendly offering a low key atmosphere that is perfect for relaxation. The beaches are quieter than some of our other favorite kid friendly beaches. Destin beaches are the perfect getaway for families.
Beach Tips:
- · Remember to have cash on hand. Most if not all the beach parking utilizes “money boxes” where you can pay for parking.
- · Pack plenty of snacks and fluids(water)
- · You can never have too many towels.
- · Sunscreen is needed in abundance. Add your sunscreen every hour in the heat of the day.
- · Coins and dollars are always good to have on hand.
- · Keep a first aid kit on hand.
