Are you planning a fire house themed party for your child’s birthday this year? If so, you may be searching for a few fire house themed party favor ideas. Well, as a former party planner, I have a fire house themed party favor idea or two that I am willing to share. Here they are:
Fiery Candy Bag
Based on my experience, a bag of fiery candy makes a great fire house themed party favor. I’d suggest that you consider buying a case of Red Hots, a case of Atomic Fireballs and a case of Hot Tamales. All three are readily available through most candy wholesale suppliers. In most instances, a 10 pound case of Red Hots will cost you less than $50. A 140-piece tub of Atomic Fireballs tends to sell for $14 and a 20-piece pack of Hot Tamales typically sells for $4.
Fire Hydrant Pop and Licorice Lace Hose
Every fire house has a fire hose right? Well, why not create a party favor bag that contains fire hydrant shaped lollipops and faux fire hoses made from black licorice laces? Fire hydrant candy molds are usually found through most confectioners’ supply shops for less than $3 each. You’ll also need to purchase lollipop sticks ($2), hard candy mix ($5), a bottle of candy flavoring and some cellophane wrappers ($5). A one pound bag of black licorice laces may be purchased through a candy wholesaler for $7. I’d suggest that you go one step further and top each licorice lace hose with a bit of gum paste ($5) or rolled fondant made to look like a nozzle.
In my opinion, a die cast fireman’s vehicle would also make an awesome fire house themed party favor. I’d recommend buying the toys in bulk. In years past, I have purchased such items through carnival suppliers. Depending on the supplier, you may be able to purchase the toy firemen’s vehicles for less than $1 apiece.
Customized Fireman’s Hat
If you have a flexible budget, you may want to consider investing $15 for a dozen, customized, plastic fireman’s hats and use them as party favors. You could customize the hats by including your child’s name and birth date. The hats tend to be available through select party supply shops.
Fire Extinguisher Squirt Cans
Another fire house themed party favor worth considering are squirt guns disguised as fire extinguishers. They are sold through assorted party supply shops for less than $12 a dozen. You could pair the fire extinguishers with another party favor or just let them stand on their own.
