So you’re planning a fall wedding and need some dinner menu ideas for the wedding dinner, even wedding reception. You’ve come to the right place. With all that can go into planning a wedding, it’s easy to understand how one can get overwhelmed when it comes to something as simple as a wedding menu. But a fall wedding dinner menu need not be overwhelming when you find ideas such as what’s on this page. All of the following ideas have a fall theme.

Fall Wedding Dinner Menu Idea #1

As the main dish, what says fall more than a baked turkey. How large the wedding dinner will be will determine how large and how many turkeys are needed. Now, some persons may squawk at the idea of using turkey as the main dish for a wedding dinner, because to some persons turkey is a cheap bird; however, when you turn that notion inside out, cheap may very well be what you want when you start adding up the bill.

What goes with baked turkey? Dressing, of course. You may have a favorite turkey dressing, but again, if you’re planning on the cheap, box dressing may be the way to go. Add some cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and coffee with Bailey’s Irish Cream to finish it off, and what you have is an easy fall-themed wedding dinner.

Fall Wedding Dinner Menu Idea #2

Staying with turkey as the main dish, though scaling down the size of the main dish, and upping the sophistication factor, why not try an organic turkey spinach toss. Essentially, all you do is bake the organic turkey ahead of time, along with washing fresh organic spinach leaves ahead of time. Cut strips of the turkey breast onto a bed of the spinach, add some orange wedges you cooked in the same dish as the turkey to the plate, along with some of the turkey drippings, and voila! Another fall-themed wedding dinner menu. This one works well if it’s a late afternoon, very early evening wedding dinner. That goes double when you add spritzers all around.

Fall Wedding Dinner Menu Idea #3

Moving from one bird to another, duck hunting season says fall has arrived. And duck, when prepared well, is very, very tasty. That’s not to say preparing means you have to cook it a certain way; duck is prepared in all of the same ways turkey or chicken is prepared. They just have less fat than the aforementioned. Most any type of rice goes well with duck. Add some cooked apples as the desert, and you’re wedding dinner guests will be quacking for more.

Fall Wedding Dinner Menu Idea # 4

While chickens are used year round for dinner, with a couple of extra fall-like touches to them, your main course will fit right in with the season. So what says fall? Baking, of course, says fall more than frying anyway-deep, pan, and so on. Bake the chicken, and add a fall vegetable such as any of the squashes, along with pecan pie, and another fall-themed wedding dinner is harvested.

Fall Wedding Dinner Menu Idea #5

If you’re hosting a large fall wedding dinner, and you have the time and wherewithal, a cochon-de-lait, as it’s called down Louisiana-way, or roast pig for everyone else, is an excellent wedding dinner idea. The wedding is a big thing. Why not make the wedding dinner a big thing, too. Roasting a young pig takes several hours, all preparation considered, from selecting, to slicing, seasoning, spitting (or other), and so on. What’s great about cochon-de-lait is that your wedding dinner guests all get to meet (if they haven’t already), and everyone gets to do some bonding while the pig is roasting. Add a pot of boiled potatoes, corn, and whatever else you can get into it, along with some pecan pie, bourbon to wash it all down, and bam! You’ve got yourself a wedding dinner outdoors in the beautiful fall weather.
