4. Anderson, TX, home of the Sulphur Spring and the home to Hopkins County Museum & Heritage Park and Cooper Lake State Park. It is located about 3 1/2 hours (180 miles) outside of Downtown Dallas, but it is well worth the drive. Here you can relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. 5. Waco, Texas is located between I-35 between Dallas and Austin. It is about 1 hour and 40 minutes (96 miles) from the heart of Dallas. Here, You can visit the Cameron Park Zoo, Canoeing, hiking, and museums (including the Dr. Pepper Museum) This is a great place to relax for a day and enjoy doing something different.
