Pennsylvania may not seem like the most exciting place to visit when lined up against states like California, Florida, and Hawaii. If you can get past the cold winters and the countless miles of sprawling farmland, you will find numerous things to do and activities to enjoy in Pennsylvania. Consider these top 10 things to do in the keystone state.

Whether you like being active and enjoying things like sports and exercise or if you tend to prefer more cultural activities like visiting museums and historical locations, you are sure to find something for everyone in your group in Pennsylvania.

1. Run up the steps of the Art Museum in Philadelphia. No trip to Pennsylvania would be complete without a stop in Philadelphia and, reminiscent of Rocky, a brisk jog up the Art Museum steps.

8. Enjoy some skiing or even just a romantic weekend in the Poconos. The Poconos also makes a fine escape in the summer and fall seasons.

9. Take the kids to Sesame Place. If you have children, they may especially love a visit to Sesame Place, where they can interact with Big Bird and the gang, go on rides, enjoy treats and just have fun.

10. Soak up some details of our nation’s past in Gettysburg. You can visit the historic sites or go on a ghost tour at night. There is a lot to see, do, and so many things to explore.
