Did you expect me to choose a different Queen song? A couple of the other ones are listed on everyone’s best sports songs lists. I prefer the heavy beat in this choice to really rile up the fans. Not only that, it can give confidence to the team that they’re really going to kick some opposing team booty. Price is $0.99.

5) Final Countdown – Europe

This could be used as a sports song against the opposing team, letting them know that it’s their “final countdown”. Audience participation is very positive during the well-known chorus. Our high school marching band plays this from the stands as one of their sports song choices, and I’m always happy to hear it. Price is $1.29.

4) We’re Not Gonna Take It – Twisted Sister

I chose this as a great sports songs for a couple of reasons. First of all, it psyches the team up so they won’t let little set-backs hamper efforts at a win. And it sure does whip up fan enthusiasm. Not only will the audience surely be joining along on this all-time rock favorite, but it gives the team a boost that they can go the distance, no matter how long it takes. No rock n roll sports song list is complete without this absolute favorite. Although most people include this on their sports songs lists, it’s because it’s such an audience favorite. This song has become so associated with sports, it’s almost hard to imagine the days when Gary Glitter used it in his musical performances. If you don’t recognize the title, it’s because you may know it as “The Hey Song”. Lots of good music interspersed with the audience yelling “hey” at the right time.
