2007 College Basketball Season

UCLA has been a great all around athletic school and John Wooden made them famous for basketball. With the tutelage of Wooden and a number of other great coaches there have been a number of great players that have not only played college ball at UCLA for the Bruins but have also went on to make a name for themselves in the NBA. Here is a list of the top 10 NBA players that previously played college ball for the University of California Los Angeles or UCLA.

10. Russell Westbrook- Sure Russell is new to the NBA but Russell has definitely made a statement since being drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Westbrook has averaged 14.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists since beginning his NBA career in 2008.

9. Willie Naulls- Naulls is an older player that you may not have heard of but was a good NBA player that caused ruckus when he was on an NBA court. Naulls played for four teams during his NBA career and averaged 15.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per game from 1957-1966.

8. Sidney Wicks- Sidney played in the NBA from 1972-1981 and was a member of three teams during his 10 year NBA career. Sidney posted averages of 16.8 points and 8.7 rebounds during his time in the NBA.

7. Baron Davis- Davis first played in the NBA in 2000 and has been a member of the Hornets, Warriors, and Clippers. Davis is the 7th best UCLA player to play in the NBA and has career averages of 17.1 points, 4 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game.

6. Jamaal Wilkes- Wilkes was a consistent NBA player from 1975-1986 playing for the Warriors, Lakers, and Clippers. Wilkes posted impressive totals of 17.7 points and 6.2 assists per game.

5. Reggie Miller- Reggie played in the NBA from 1988-2005 and was one of the best 3-point shooters to ever play in the NBA. Reggie will be remembered for his flops and big shots. Reggie played his entire career for the Indiana Pacers and averaged 18.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists per game.

4. Gail Goodrich- Coming in just ahead of Reggie is Hall of Fame player Gail Goodrich. Goodrich played for 3 teams during his 14 seasons in the NBA from 1966-1979 and posted totals of 18.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.

3. Kiki Vandeweghe- Kiki played for 4 teams during his tenure in the NBA and was impressive doing it. Kiki averaged 19.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in his 13 years in the NBA from 1981-1993.

2. Marques Johnson- Johnson played in the NBA from 1978-1990 and averaged 20.1 points, 7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. Johnson played for Milwaukee, the Clippers, and the Warriors.

1. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar- Kareem played in the NBA from 1970-1989 and is the NBA’s All Time leading scorer. Kareem averaged 24.6 points and 11.2 rebounds per game while starting his career with the Milwaukee Bucks and finishing it with the Los Angeles Lakers.
