Dr. Dre is a true legend in the Hip-Hop genre. He helped create NWA, a popular Hip-Hop group, and he also introduced a numerous variety of hip-hop artists to the world such as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent. His 1992 album, The Chronic, revolutionized production in Hip-Hop music forever. His 1999 album, titled 2001, was a huge success and sold millions worldwide. Dr. Dre is in his 40s now, and his upcoming album, Detox, is set to hit stores at some point in the future. While we are waiting for his latest album, let’s take a look at his top 10 songs off of his first and second multi-platinum albums.

10. “Still D.R.E”

Off of his album 2001, “Still D.R.E” features a classic melody and drums, with catchy lyrics and a chorus. The track also features hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg. Hip-hop producer Scott Storch plays the piano, while Dr. Dre does all the drum work. Anyone who knows what hip-hop is has heard this song at least once in their lifetime.

9. “Nuthin but a G thang”

Off The Chronic album, this track was a huge hit back in 1993. This track again features Snoop Dogg. The classic synthesizer based beat is relaxing and the chorus stays in your head for eternity. This song is one of Dre’s best tracks ever.

8. “Let me ride”

“Let me ride” is definitley a relaxing tune you can listen to anywhere. The song features several song samples by artists such as Parliament, James Brown, and Bill Withers. After this song was released, it helped The Chronic sell millions of copies.

7.”Lil’ Ghetto Boy”

This song has been an inspirational masterpiece to many. The song is about Dr. Dre and all the problems he has experienced when he was younger. The track was never released as a single, but it is defenitley another classic by good old Dr. Dre.

6. “The Watcher”

This track features rappers Eminem and Knoc-turn’al. They both sing the chorus while Dr. Dre raps all the verses. The song features Dre talking about how hip-hop isn’t the same way it was back in the 1990s, and how theres new rappers pretending to be “thugs” when their not. The song’s instrumental is the highlight, with classic production by Dre.

5. “Xxplosive”

“Xxplosive” is a track off of Dre’s 2001 album. The song doesn’t feature Dr. Dre at all, but the production on the song is absolutely incredible. His heavy drums and guitar based beat never disappoint, while he has other rappers rapping about their times with girls in the past. The song is incredible.

4. “The Next Episode”

This track, once again, features Snoop Dogg. The pattern in the beat is guaranteed to have you humming it over and over again. The song doesn’t exactly have a chorus, but it is definitley a highlight in Dr. Dre’s career.

The song features rappers Eminem and Xzibit. The song basicallly just rambles on about a bunch of random things that really doesn’t make too much sense, but Dr. Dre’s production saves it. The blaring horns and bass make the song another classic.

Off the 2001 album, Dr. Dre’s production is still better than ever on this track. The smooth beat, the bumping bass, and beautiful guitars, and the eery synth give the song an incredible feel. The song also features rapper Hittman rapping over the second half of the song.

This song is probably one of Dr. Dre’s biggest masterpieces. Off the album 2001, the track features rapper Eminem and an unforgettable melody. The guitar pattern will stick in your head, and the chorus by Eminem is catchier than ever. Dr. Dre keeps on delivering music of amazing quality over and over again.
