Top 10 Comedy Movies of 2009

Comedy Movies

I love comedy movies and I try to see them during the year. I have an eight year old, so we usually make it to the kids movies first, but this year we actually got to see some adult movies, too. I also rented many movies that I missed at the theatre during the year. Here is my top ten comedy movies of 2009. Since I’m really a kid at heart myself many of these are movies kids love, but adults will too.

10. Zombieland

This movie had a lot of action and comedy and was entertaining.

9. The Proposal

This movie stars Sandra Bullock and she is always good in the movies she makes. In this movie she is forced to marry to keep her visa. With lots of twist and turns, this movie is very funny and very entertaining.

8. Year One

These two hunters are expelled from the 2nd century. It’s a very funny movie, but many of the good parts are seen n the trailer.

7. Land of the Lost

In this movie Will Ferrell finds himself in another dimension. He is in the land of the dinosaurs. I really enjoyed this movie and laughed throughout the movie.

6. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

This movie is a very funny movies about a bachelor who gets visions of his past girlfriends. Matthew McConaughy is the main character and he is very funny. It also features Jennifer Garner.

4. The Hangover

This movie is about the aftermath of a Las Vegas bachelor party. The men find themselves with a baby and missing groom. They must retrace their paths to find the groom and figure out what happened. I loved this movie.

3. Funny People

I love all of Adam Sandler’s movies and this one was great also. In the movie Sandler is a stand up comedian and it shows the life he lives as a stand up comedian. It is a little sad at times, but overall it is a very good and funny movie.

2. Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

Ben Stiller appears in this movie and it is a sequel to the first. Although you don’t have to see the first one to understand this one, the first is also one of my favorite movies. Stiller ends up being a hero in this story and works very hard to get what he believes in. I really thought this was a great movie.

1. Up

Although this is a Disney film I think it was truly the best comedy of the year. The beginning was very sad, but necessary to explain background information about the old man in the movie. This is an adventure story about an old man, a young boy, and a dog. It shows a lot of determination and I thought it was a great movie. It’s the perfect movie for people of all ages.
