One of the best things I love about summer is the fact that I can walk outside and get sun at anytime, however, I am well aware that I don’t speak for everyone, as not everyone loves the sun. The good news is, there are so many great alternatives that range from self tanning products to tanning pills to even luminizing and bronzing products. In fact, I am one who loves bronzing products, as they are extremely convenient and work well to cater to just about any skin type, as well as, skin tone. It is 2009 and summer is approaching, so I have decided to narrow down the numerous bronzer products to only the top 10 bronzers of 2009.
10. Urban Decay Baked Bronzer. Starting off the countdown is one of the best additions to Urban Decay, the Urban Decay Baked Bronzer. Available at Urban Decay and Sephora, this incredible bronzing product proves why it is one of the best of 2009. I first discovered this product while shopping at Sephora and was incredibly intrigued by it’s color, as well as, texture. It’s rather light, yet very natural and possesses a feeling that is clean. You can also dampen this product, in which it transforms into a sheer cream that sinks into the skin like a second skin. I also love the fact that it is streak-free and the application is fairly pigmented, producing a color pay-off that is chic. Urban Decay’s Baked Bronzer is available in three beautiful shades. They include: Baked (which is a magnificent subtle golden bronze), Gilded (which is a golden shimmer tan bronze), and Toasted (which is a striking, yet simple matte bronze). I think they are all wonderful, but if you are looking for a natural look, you will love Toasted the most. If you are looking for a bronzing product that is made with natural ingredients that is cruelty free, you will love this one.
9. Clinique Almost Bronze SPF 15. One day while shopping at Hershberger’s I discovered this amazing addition to Clinique. Although I was skeptical, it was after I tried it that I realized it was really decent. One thing is certain, I like this product because it’s natural, but can be built to be supremely visible. This product is available in Light/Medium and in Medium/Deep. If you possess a skin tone that is rather light, I would recommend the Light/Medium and if you have a skin tone that is on the darker side, I would definitely recommend the Medium/Deep. If you are looking for a bronzing product that is not only natural, but produces a great color pay-off that is fairly pigmented while protecting your skin from UV Rays, I truly recommend Clinique’s Almost Bronze SPF 15, as it would be right for you.
8. CARGO Water Resistant Bronzer. Searching for a bronzer should never be rocket science because, well, it isn’t, but sometimes it can be difficult. One thing is certain, once you discover this bronzer, you will realize that it’s much easier to find a great bronzer without using time and brain cells. Available at Sephora, this fantastic addition to CARGO proves why it is one of the hottest bronzers of 2009. Whether rain and whether shine, this remarkable bronzing product lasts throughout the entire day. In fact, one reason to love the CARGO Water Resistant Bronzer is the fact it is long-lasting and does not fade nor crease. It is also fairly pigmented, so it creates a look that is modish. I love this product because it is universal and can be worn at just about anytime with just about any other product. The color is gorgeous, as it is a golden bronze shade which can be worn as natural or dramatic.
7. Fusion Beauty Glow Fusion. Imagine a bronzer that not only works as a fantastic bronzing product, but a bronzer that actually works to problem solver to protect your skin from damage. You can stop imagining, as this is the right product for you. Available at Sephora, this bronzer not only products a color pay-off that is insanely beautiful, but it provides your skin with naturally derived ingredients which work together to create a solution to your skin’s issues that can range from premature aging to dark spots, and more. The Fusion Beauty Glow Fusion bronzer is available in three beautiful shades. They include: Golden (stunning lush golden glow), Luminous (delightful sun-kissed glow), and Sunshine (pleasing warm bronze glow). I love the Golden. 6. Hourglass Supernatural Waterproof Bronzer. Available exclusively at Sephora, this fantastic addition to Hourglass proves why it is one of the hottest bronzers of 2009. I love the fact that this bronzer is not only long-lasting, but water resistant. If you want to run a mile or two miles, you won’t have to worry much about this streaking nor running. This product also works on just about every skin type, making it a product for those who have trouble finding the right product based on that wavelength alone. I love the fact that you can develop color, without feeling like you are wearing a lot. The color is “Mirage” and it is a gorgeous golden matte shade that is adaptable to just about any skin tone. It is literally one of the best bronzing products I have used, making it a top bronzer of 2009.
5. Tarte Mineral Powder Bronzer. What do you take when you create a product that is highly demanded, but use only organic ingredients that contain no synthetic fibers or petro-chemicals? What do you take when you combine hot packaging and an extraordinary product that is natural? You get Tarte Mineral Powder Bronzer. Available at Sephora, this wonderful bronzing product proves why it is not only a true must-have, but one of the top bronzers of 2009. I love this product because it is unprocessed and sublimely great for my skin. I have had the opportunity to purchase this through Sephora and was so impressed, I bought one for my mother (who not only appreciates it, but loves it too). The colors are “Park Avenue Princess” (which is a gorgeous pearled yellow gold) and “Hotel Heiress” (which is a stunning deep bronze shimmer). I own them both and I must say, although both are incredible shades, I am in love with Park Avenue Princess. If you are looking to purchase an organic product that is great for your skin, I truly recommend the Tarte Mineral Powder Bronzer, as you will not be disappointed.
4. Sephora Bronzer Powder with SPF 15. I first discovered this bronzing product when shopping at Sephora. Available in four lovely shades, this bronzing product proves why it is a hot product. The shades include: Bora Bora, Bahamas, Caribbean, and Riviera. My favorite is Caribbean, as it is a beautiful elegant pale gold that is fairly light, yet pleasantly observable. This product also has SPF 15, which makes it not only good for skin today, but skin tomorrow too. So, while it protects your skin, it makes your skin look remarkable. For just a mere $16, you get a beautiful bronzing product that actually lives up to it’s promise and niche and also demonstrates why it is one of the hottest bronzers of 2009. You just cannot beat that.
3. MAC Bronzing Powder. One thing to love about MAC is the fact they rarely disappoint and in the case of the MAC Bronzing Powder, they definitely do not. Available at MAC and select department stores such as Macy’s and Nordstroms, this amazing addition to MAC proves why it is not only one of the hottest bronzing products of 2009, but a true must-have. Although this product is sheer, it gives you the opportunity to wear this product however you want to wear it. It also strengthens the skin color, producing a color that is as vibrant and radiant as the individual that wears it. It is for all skin types, as well as, skin tones. The color pay-off is very pigmented, allowing you to achieve just about any look. Some of the shades include: Refined Golden, Bronze, and Golden. I love this product because it’s simple, but also works wonders for my skin. The application is smooth. If you are looking for a bronzing product, I truly recommend MAC’s Bronzing Powder, as it’s in the bag.
2. Le Metier de Beaute Bronzer. Quality vs. quantity or quantity vs. quality? Either way, if you haven’t had the opportunity to try this great bronzing product, you have yet to discover a good one. Available at Neiman Marcus, this wonderful addition to Le Metier de Beaute proves why it is not only an amazing bronzer, but one of the best bronzers of 2009. I love this product because it’s lightweight, yet natural and produces a color pay-off that is generous. I also love the fact that it is long-lasting. There are two colors available which include Sun Kissed and Sun Drenched. Sun Kissed is recommended for those with lighter skin tones to a more neutral and even medium skin tone. Sun Kissed is recommended to those with medium skin tones and darker. If you are looking for a luxurious bronzing product that delivers it’s promise and lives up to it’s niche, I truly recommend Le Metier de Beaute’s Bronzer. Whether as a gift of thanks or just because to your mother, your sister, your bestie, or even yourself, the recipient of this product will not only love it, but appreciate that much more so, as a result.

1. Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder. The moment you have been waiting for. After thinking about this decision, I have decided that I truly love Guerlain’s Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder the best. Available at Sephora and at department stores such as Neiman Marcus, this product proves why it is ultimately worth purchasing. I absolutely love this product for several reasons, however; what got me was the fact it was not only long-lasting, but pigmented and allowed me to build color. Also, a little goes a long way, which makes it highly worth it’s overall value. I love the fact that it creates a healthy glow that is natural, as opposed to theatrical. The packaging is chic, as is most of Guerlain’s products, so that is definitely an essential quality to point out. The shades range from “Blonde” which is catered to a light demographic to “Brunette” which is catered to a medium demographic, and “Dark” which is created to those darker people. Whatever your skin type and whatever your skin tone, this product works for all. I have tried many bronzing products and I must say that this product is truly one of the best bronzers on the market, making it the best bronzer of 2009. This product didn’t win an In Style Award for nothing.
