‘Thugged Out’ Rap Singer Michael Goldsby Shot and Killed

In Gary, Ind., aspiring rap singer Michael Goldsby, who performed with his brother as “Thugged Out”, was shot and killed outside of his house Tuesday morning.

An apparent argument on the street near his home at 366 Buchanan Street is where the incident occurred. An unknown person that was at the scene drove Goldsby to the hospital but he was pronounced dead at the Methodist Hospitals Northlake campus shortly after arrival, as reported The Sun Times.

In March of 1997, Michael Goldsby was charged in the shooting death of Alejandro Moreno. Then in August 2003 he was charged with biting Darrian Donald, a patrolman. Then in 2003, Goldsby was charged with felony battery, he allegedly assaulted his 3-year-old son while he was drunk. Michael Goldsby is the 13th person to be killed in Gary this month, as reported by the The Sun Times.

As reported by The Sun Times, Michael Goldsby’s brother Jeffrey Goldsby posted an interview at MurderDog.com that their music encouraged young people to avoid crime. Goldsby also stated in the interview that “We tell them that whatever you do it’s gonna come back to you. If it’s good it’s gonna come back to you, if it’s wrong it’s gonna come back to you. Regardless, so we know all the consequences, all the repercussions of when you do crimes. That’s why we try to put it out in our lyrics”, as reported by The Sun Times.

Some of the music Thugged Out performed were, Na’What, Get’ Em, My Mind, Roll in the Club, and Whump Talk. Detective Sgt. Anthony Titus of the Gary Police Department said if anyone has any information to call the police department. No leads or arrest have been made since the incident on May 22, 2007, as reported by The Sun Times.
