With fifteen sets of action-figure superstars already released in World Wrestling Entertainemnt’s (WWE) and Jakks Pacific’s line of Classic Superstars, most of the most popular and sought after wrestlers have been released, but there are still a lot of different wrestlers that have not been created yet. Here’s a run down of a few of the Most-Wanted.
“Macho Man” Randy Savage: With all the different variants of Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan action figures released, imagine what they could do with a classic superstar like “Macho Man” Randy Savage. A WWE mainstay in the 1980s and 90s, Macho Man saw huge success in memorable feuds with Hulk Hogan, Ricky Steamboat, and won the Wrestlemania IV World Title Tournament by beating Ted DiBiase in the finals. With his custom sunglasses and over the top outfits that featured a wide arrangement of designs and colors, there are tons of possibilities for this figure. Jakks could even create a two-pack featuring Randy Savage and long-time manager, the late Elizabeth.
Owen Hart: One of wrestling’s biggest tragedies was the unexpected death of Owen Hart at a live pay per view in May of 1998. Owen was the younger brother of Bret “The Hitman” Hart and was bound for just as much success as his older brother. Owen started in the WWE as a masked wrestler known as the Blue Blazer, and eventually ended up playing himself and a member of the Hart Foundation with his brother Bret. Owen saw success as a multi-time Intercontinental champion and a Tag-team Champion. The figure would be a tribute to his legacy in the ring that was sadly short-lived. It should come with an alternative Blue Blazer costume and replica Intercontinental championship. If he had lived longer, it could have been a replica World Title.
Undertaker: Sure, there have already been a number of Undertaker action figures released, but there is one that has not made yet for the classic series, his debut at the 1990 Survivor Series. This figure would represent one of the Undertaker’s most important times, as his debut set the stage for the rest of his career. Accompanied by managers Brother Love and Paul Bearer, the Undertaker was introduced as a mystery member of Ted DiBiase Million Dollar Team. From his debut and everything after that the Undertaker has made an impact and this is a crucial figure that belongs in the Classic Superstar line.
Ahmed Johnson: In the late 1990s two huge WWE superstars, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin were rising through the ranks as one superstar with just as much potential slipped through the cracks and never reached the peak of his career. This man is Ahmed Johnson, who could be described as a better Bobby Lashley. Better on the microphone, in the ring, and his intensity, Ahmed was a highlight to WWE programming and had feuds with Farooq, Golddust, and the Undertaker. His modified power-bomb, the Pearl River plunge was a powerful and unique finisher. His figure would not come with too much accessory wise, but would be a great addition to the line of superstars.
Those are just four of the many Most-Wanted wrestlers in the Jakks and WWE line of Classic Superstars, but Jakks is constantly picking up the pace and these four may soon be on a shelf near you.
