The GoPhone’s Mobile to Mobile Plan Can Save Hundreds of Dollars

Gophone, Phone Cards

Every teenager wants their own cellphone, they’ve grown to think that it’s a necessity instead of a luxury. Your child having a cellphone isn’t only for the benefit of them keeping in touch with friends, being able to reach my son by phone, where ever he may be, has saved me a lot of worry!

I personally haven’t tried the monthly pay plans, I’ve been more attracted to the pay as you go phones. Being on a very strict budget, I can allot the monthly amount I’m willing to spend on cards to refill minutes.

I’d originally gotten us both the plain, no frills Tracfone. It served it’s purpose as far as keeping in touch with him and several times when my car had refused to start, had gotten someone there to help me.

But, the cost of keeping a Tracfone going became way to much, not to mention that if you just don’t happen to need to use all of your minutes you must still purchase a card to keep them active.

With my son’s girlfriend going off to college this past year the GoPhone became the best way to let them keep in touch. The mobile to mobile option that AT&T; offers has saved me hundreds of dollars in phone cards.

You have the choice of choosing between a flat rate of ten cents per anytime minute or the option of unlimited mobile to mobile for $1.00 per day with any other call being charged at the ten cents per minute rate.

These phones include all the basic functions including call waiting, three way calling and voice mail and more options can be added and there’s a good variety of different types of phones offered.

A $15 card can be purchased at Wal-Mart for just under $15 and several times I’ve found them even cheaper on Ebay. A bonus minute feature gives you up to an additional $20 card for every $100 worth of cards that you buy.

Of course, as with every other cell phone there are the occasional times when the “out of service area” can’t be avoided, but overall the GoPhone has had pretty good service availability for us.

The best feature of the GoPhone to me is by far the mobile to mobile plan, I don’t even want to know the number of minutes per day that he is on the phone. But, I no longer have to worry about that since everyone he talks to is included in his mobile to mobile plan.

Of course, even if you only use the mobile to mobile option the GoPhone costs at least $30 per month to keep in service, but unlike most pre-payed plans this option allows unlimited anytime minutes and this can add up to an unlimited amount of savings.
