The Best Underoath Songs – Lyrics

Metalcore

Underoath is a metalcore band from Tampa, Florida, that was formed in 1998. They are signed with Solid State Records and are the label’s most popular group.

This christian band with not-so-christian sounding music offers a new sound to bible huggers everywhere. Vocalist Spencer Chamberlain explained, “[We are Christian but] in a different way. We’re not like your average Christian band.”

Underoath has been my favorite band for several years now, and since I listen to their music on a regular basis, I have a strong opinion on what their best songs are. Here are the best songs by Underoath, in no particular order because I can’t pick my favorite.

10. Angel Below

“You took me over the edge

And left me there to fall by myself

The word love meant nothing to you

I was taken in with your lies

And you knew I was too weak to leave”

Angel below by Underoath has great lyrics with a great sound to it. I enjoy this song overall and could listen to it over and over again.

9. In Regards to Myself

“Time is shorter than you know

I know the light is

blinding to the naked eye

So why don’t you take steps

away from being alone

I swear, it’s not too late for you”

In Regards to Myself by Underoath starts quiet and then takes a loud turn (for the better). It’s a wonderful song that has a deeper meaning, as most of Underoath’s songs do.

8. You’re Ever So Inviting

“The time has come for you to sit this out

To fit inside your mold

would be to sell myself short”

I can’t get over how great the lyrics are in all of Underoath’s songs. Seriously, the song-writer is a genius.

7. Young and Aspiring

“None of this will ever change your mind

It’s never safe to rely on borrowed time

Now we’re both undone, and it’s time to open up your eyes”

Another very loud song but after you get past the loudness, your soul will be sucked in with the beauty of the words.

6. A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black and White

“Can you feel your heartbeat racing?

Can you taste the fear in her sweat?

You’ve done this wrong

It’s too far gone

These sheets tell of regret

I admit that I’m just a fool for you”

This song has a much softer approach to it. The vocalists voice is very soothing.

“you always amazed me

but thats the past

i kept silent and it rained for days

my inside were drenched

but i guess that’s the part of growing up”

Alone in December is an amazing song that I might just consider my favorite.

1. Writing on the Walls

“I swear we need to find some comfort in

this run down place

To bridge the gap of this conscious state

that we live in

I’m short on time”

Last but not least (or first for that matter), is Writing on the Walls. It is a comforting song that I never get tired of listening to.
