The Best Red Carpet Dresses for 2010

Carolina Herrera

Celebrities have the ability to go all out at various red carpet fashion events throughout the year. If you have a passion for fashion, watching what they wear down the red carpet can be very entertaining. This article looks at some of the best red carpet dresses for 2010.

Six of the best red carpet dresses for 2010:

1.Anne Hathaway at the Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala in Valentino

Anne Hathaway has not only played the role of a princess, she often looks like one on the red carpet. Her Met Ball outfit makes me think of fairytales like Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Her Gold toned Valentino gown featured a strapless bodice covered in sequins. The tulle skirt featured panels of sequins as well as a few scattered sequins. The combination created a very pretty shimmer effect.

2. Diane Agron at the 2010 Emmys in Carolina Herrera

This Glee star wore what I would refer to as a modern take on a pre-civil war gown, to the 62nd primetime Emmy awards. The strapless dress from Carolina Herrera’s resort 2011 collection featured a multiple tired full skirt. It consisted of multiple layers with the outermost being a lace style fabric. It appears to be a light pink or purple color and features black accents including a sheer bow at the waist.

3. Claire Danes at the 2010 Emmys in Armani Prive

From time to time, Claire Danes pops up on the best dressed list, and with this gown I can see why. It is an Armani Prive design from the fall 2010 couture collection. The champagne colored dress skimmed the body in all the right spots and the crystal and beadwork created a beautiful finish.

4. Terri Seymour at the 2010 Emmys in Alexander McQueen

British television presenter, Terri Seymour, wore something a little bit different in comparison to many of the women at this year’s Emmys, but I think it really worked for her. The dress was a feminine, but edgy knee length creation. The neutral colored bodice featured a pretty bra style cup under layer and an outer layer that appeared to have a snakeskin style print. On the lower half it featured a black tulle overlay skirt.

5. Cameron Diaz at the 2010 Oscars in Oscar De La Renta

Cameron’s Oscar De La Renta gown was really pretty.

Light gold, nice swish to the back, strapless, metallic gold beading work and sequins, fit then flare over the hips silhouette.

6. Anika Noni Rose at the 2010 Oscars in Rania Salibi

The Dreamgirls star didn’t wear a gown by one of the big names in fashion, but what this Lebanese fashion designer produced was up there in the style stakes. The strapless bodice featured a mosaic style effect with what looked like shards of mirrored beads applied to it. The skirt was full and gathered up in various sections.
