Everyone has a favorite shampoo and conditioner. You know, that one scent that was just right for you or the one formula that made your hair behave perfectly. Some of us will buy a hair care product just for the scent alone while others are more concerned about how well it works on their hair. Alas, my all time favorite shampoo and conditioner of all time is no longer sold in the United States. Isn’t that always the way?
I am sure that many of you have tried my favorite shampoo/conditioner and bought it for only $1.99 a bottle years ago! Revlon Outrageous hair care was the best hair care ever! I would have bought it for the heavenly scent alone, but it also made my hair so soft and manageable, which is no easy task for my kinky frizzy curls.
The formula smells like what euphoria feels like. I haven’t been able to get any Revlon Outrageous for nearly nine years. I wasn’t looking for it until recently so don’t think that I have been wandering the country in search of this product like a madwoman for nearly a decade. What do you take me for?
Well, God bless the internet. I did a Google search for Revlon Outrageous and was bombarded with pages of lip gloss items. I got more specific and added shampoo to my keywords. Now I was getting somewhere! Unfortunately, I only saw my divine shampoo/conditioner on eBay and some really overpriced site called supergolfgifts.com. I think I was salivating while resisting the urge to sniff my screen when I saw that long lost bottle of Revlon Outrageous shampoo! It was torture to know that I could not have it right then.
You have the option to buy in bulk on eBay. Some loyal fans of the Revlon Outrageous buy a whole year’s worth at a time. A lot of six bottles of Revlon Outrageous will cost you $25.99 plus S&H; on eBay which is roughly $4.50 a bottle. I didn’t bother to check the shipping costs because I wasn’t planning on buying it for that price at the time.
At supergolfgifts.com you will be buying a lot of four bottles for $44.00 plus S&H; which is exactly $11.00 a bottle!! I almost became sick. These are 11.8 ounce bottles of a shampoo that used to sell for a buck and some change at Big Lots for goodness sake!
In a desperate attempt in the quest of my favorite scent of all time, I discovered that Canada sells my product at Wal-Mart. I actually called my local Wal-Mart and requested that it be shipped to our store from the Canada outlet. I have not heard back from them.
*Sigh* I’ll just have to quit being so cheap and dip into my PayPal account. All I want is just one bottle so that I can smell that amazing scent again. Having silky manageable hair will be a plus as well. In the meantime, I’ll have to settle with John Frieda’s Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner, but it will never replace my long time favorite hair care indulgence, Revlon Outrageous.
