The Best Body Oils to Soothe Dry Skin

Baby Oil, Irritated Skin, Nivea, Reduce Stretch Marks

If your daily moisturizing routine doesn’t include body oil, you should not be complaining about dry skin. Body oil, if applied correctly, will help reduce or eliminate all of your problems with dry skin. When you shower, the essential oils in your skin are washed away, and body oil can help replace those.

Every time you shower, body oil should be applied to wet skin and then patted dry with a towel. After dry, lotion should be applied on top of the oil for extra moisturizing. Or, if you prefer, you can pour a little bit of body oil into a bath and use oil instead of bubble bath. You’ll get out of the bathtub with the smoothest skin you’ve had since you were a baby.

So, which brands of body oil are best for dry skin? After years of suffering with dry skin, here are some of my suggestions:

1) Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil

Quite inexpensive, the average Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil will do. If you’re living on a budget, applying baby oil to your skin will work just as well as many of the other, more expensive body oils on the market. If you don’t mind smelling like a baby’s bottom all day, Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil will do the trick.

2) Neutrogena Body Oil Light Sesame Formula

Neutrogena Body Oil Light Sesame Formula will soothe your dry skin like no other. It goes on like oil, so be careful not to spill it on things you don’t want to get all oily. Plus, the smell is absolutely delicious – it is light and refreshing. Mixed with flowery lotion, you’ll receive continuous compliments all day long. It costs a little more than the Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil, but after you smell it and use it a few times, you’ll be thanking yourself for splurging.

3) Vaseline Cocoa Butter Vitalizing Gel Body Oil

Vaseline Cocoa Butter Vitalizing Gel Body Oil is a little thicker and more of a gel than the other body oils on my list, but if you’re looking for a really deep moisturizing, this will work great for you. Because it also contains cocoa butter, the Vaseline Gel Body Oil works wonders when it comes to keeping your skin moisturized all day.

4) Burt’s Bees Vitamin E Bath and Body Oil

Burt’s Bees Vitamin E Bath and Body Oil is formulated specifically for use after a shower and for in bath water. 100% natural, Burt’s Bees body oil also contains Vitamin E so it can help reduce stretch marks and other unsightly skin marks if you apply it often enough. Lemon and sweet almond oil leave the Burt’s Bees Vitamin E Bath and Body Oil smelling delicious as well.

5) Nivea Smooth Sensation Body Oil

Unlike the other body oils, Nivea Smooth Sensation Body Oil is formulated for extra dry skin and contains avocado oil versus palm oil, sweet almond oil, and sesame oil. Depending upon the scent you like and the way the oil reacts with your skin, you’ll have to choose the oil that best fits your skin type. The Nivea Smooth Sensation Body Oil also has a light, yummy scent that won’t overpower but will work well in place of a perfume or smelly, skin irritating lotion.
