The 7 Best Shows to See in Las Vegas

Comedy Shows, Criss Angel, Family Shows

Lights, glamour, production! These are 3 main keys to any Las Vegas production, but just these 3 alone does not constitute a must see show. Here is my review of the best shows to see while in Sin City.

7. LOVE at the Mirage
This is a Beatles tribute show. It incorporates nostalgic Beatles songs with the enchantment of Cirque du Soleil. One of these best parts of this show is that the original recordings have been digitally re-mastered and used. Another plus that adds life to the performance is the Cirque cast. These performers are constantly using aerial acrobatics, and freestyle dance to keep the show upbeat and still intimate. However, I felt that this was not as good as the other Cirque shows because it really felt like just a tribute concert. Tickets range in price from around $95 to $150 per seat; you can also book dinner packages to help complete the night.

6. Penn and Teller at the Rio
For anyone who loves magic and comedy, this may just be the right show for you. Penn and Teller mix their off beat and eccentric brand of magic for guests at the Rio. Most guests are pleased with the performance, however, because of the intermix of comedy and magic; expect less magic in the show. Penn and Teller are very talented, and it shows throughout the show. They have great chemistry. Prices start at $86.

5. Rita Rudner at Harrahs
This is one of the better rated comedy shows on The Strip. This is my number 5 because I think that comedy shows are the best and they are not as prominent in Las Vegas. But, after all this time, she has not lost her comedic timing. It helps if you are familiar with Rita and her comedic style. Otherwise you may not get some of her jokes. Tickets for this show start at $65.

4. Lance Burton at the Monte Carlo
Now this is a magic show! This is what I expect when I think of a Las Vegas magic show. Lance does not disappoint. This is one of the family shows on the strip and Lance acknowledges that in his performance. All of the tricks are amazing and I can’t figure them out. No wonder why he has been voted “Best Magician” I think that the only magic show in Vegas that will top this is Criss Angel’s Believe. Tickets for Lance start around $70.00

3. Blue Man Group at the Venetian
This is totally a visual experience! Blue Man incredibly combines visual effects with live music to create an unforgettable performance. While prices are high for this in-demand show, it is worth it. This show is non stop and can be a sensory overload if you are not prepared. I wasn’t. But my husband, who loves music, absolutely ate this show up! Prices start at $100. We had the cheap seats for this show and it was still amazing!

2. Zumanity at the New York, New York
This is one of the best “adult shows” around. I liked it particularly because it is a classy adult show. But how could the creators of Cirque do any less? Zumanity is an erotic burlesque-like show but you don’t feel like you are in a smutty club. I would highly suggest taking this show in if you feel the need to be sinful in Sin City. This sensual show is a must see, and is for 18 and older. Prices start out at $76, but I would suggest taking a higher price ticket to fully experience the show.

1. Stomp Out Loud at the Planet Hollywood
By far the best show I have ever seen. I was skeptical at first, but after seeing it I am sold!! This show combines a bit of comedic relief during the non-stop musical performance. With a cast of around 25, the performers make music and rhythms using non-musical objects like trash cans, brooms, water, and metal among others. The cast is spectacular and I did not feel like I paid too much. My husband also loved this one, even more than Blue Man! The theater is just the right size that every seat has a great experience and view of the show. Prices start at $76 and this show plays 7 days a week!

Vegas is about the production shows, the big lights and the entertainment. Research what you are interested in and then make your decision. But in the end, see what you want to see because it may not be there the next time you are!
