The one hour crime drama television series known as “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” revolves around The Major Case Squad who work for the New York City Police Department. They investigate the worst kind of criminals. The series takes you inside the head of an offender. “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” has won an ASCAP Award in 2006. The series ended their sixth season in May of 2007 and has been renewed for a seventh season. “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” is the second spin-off from “Law & Order”. The series stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe and Chris Noth.

Vincent D’Onofrio

Vincent D’Onofrio the actor who plays, “Detective Robert Goren” on the television series, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” was born on June 30, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York. D’Onofrio has a sister by the name of Elizabeth. He has attended Hialeah-Miami High School in Florida as well as Colorado University in Colorado. In 1984, D’Onofrio became a part of the American Stanislavsky Theatre where he starred in “Of Mice and Men”. That same year, he debuted on Broadway with “Open Admissions”.

D’Onofrio made his film debut in the comedy, “The First Turn-On!!” in 1983. Other film work include, “Full Metal Jacket” (1987), “Adventures in Babysitting” (1987), “Mystic Pizza” (1988), “Dying Young” (1991), “JFK” (1991), “Malcolm X” (1992) and “Household Saints” (1993) which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination. More film work followed including, “Ed Wood” (1994), “Strange Days” (1995), “The Whole Wide World” (1996) which earned him a Lone Star Film Award, “The Newton Boys” (1998), “The Cell” (2000) and “The Break-Up” (2006). In 2005, D’Onofrio starred in the film, “Thumbsucker” which earned him a “Best Actor” award at the Stockholm Film Festival.

In 2001, D’Onofrio won the role of “Detective Robert Goren” on the television series, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” which earned him a Golden Satellite Award nomination in 2005. He is currently filming the drama, “The Narrows”.

In 1991, D’Onofrio married actress, Greta Scacchi but the two year marriage ended in divorce. It produced one child, a daughter. He married again in 1997 to Carin Van Der Donk. The couple have one son.

Kathryn Erbe

Kathryn Erbe the actress who plays, “Detective Alexandra Eames” on the television series, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” was born on July 5, 1966 in Newton, Massachusetts. In 1989, Erbe graduated from New York University. Erbe became a part of the Steppenwolf Theatre where she appeared in, “The Grapes of Wrath”, “A Streetcar Named Desire” and “My Thing of Love. In 1991, she starred in a production “Speed of Darkness” which earned her a Tony Award nomination.

Erbe made her film debut in 1989 with “Runaway Dreams”. Film work followed including, “What About Bob?” (1991), “Rich in Love” (1993), “Kiss of Death” (1995) and “Stir of Echoes” (1999). In 1998, Erbe won the role of, “Shirley Bellinger” in the gritty television drama, “Oz”. She stayed with the series until 2000 when her character was executed for murdering her daughter.

In 2001, Erbe won the role of “Detective Alexandra Eames” on the television series, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”. The seventh season will debut on the USA Network.

Erbe was married to actor Terry Kinney but the marriage ended in divorce. The couple have two children, a daughter and a son.

Chris Noth

Christopher David Noth the actor who plays, “Detective Mike Logan” on the television series, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” was born on November 13, 1954 in Madison, Wisconsin to Charles Noth and Jeanne Parr. Noth has two brothers. In 1962, his father passed away. Noth has attended Marlboro College in Vermont as well as Yale School of Drama in Connecticut. He has appeared in stage productions of, “Just a Little Bit Less Than Normal” and “Hamlet”.

Noth made his film debut in 1982 with the drama, “Smithereens”. More film work followed including, “Offbeat” (1986), “The Deli” (1997), “Cast Away” (2000) and “The Perfect Man” (2005). Television work include, “Hill Street Blues” (1986), “At Mother’s Request” (1987), “I’ll Take Manhattan” (1987), “Touched by an Angel” (1997) and “Crossing Jordan” (2001). In 1990, Noth starred as “Detective Mike Logan” on the television series, “Law & Order”. He stayed with the series until 1995. In 1998, Noth began appearing on “Sex and the City” which lasted until 2004. The series earned him a Golden Globe nomination in 2000.

In 2005, Noth reprised his role of “Detective Mike Logan” on the television series, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”. Noth’s most current role to date is the 2007 film drama, “Frame of Mind” which is in post-production.
