Choosing a university to attend is very stressful. Choosing the hotel to stay at while visiting prospective universities shouldn’t be. The second inexpensive place to stay is the Holiday Inn City Center at Convention Center. It’s located right in the heart of downtown Los Angeles across the street from the Staples Center. Rooms are priced at $144 a night for a standard room. The Holiday Inn has a meeting room, swimming pool, sauna, family rooms and fitness facility. The hotel has a casual restaurant and a cocktail lounge. It’s a great deal for the price. They amenities are nicer and newer than the Vagabond Inn so I highly recommend it. The Clarion Hotel Downtown is a little further away from the campus, but they offer great service and amenities. Their standard rate is $162 a night if booking online. The hotel amenities include an outdoor pool, restaurant, bar/lounge, car rental desk, family rooms, free parking, free high speed internet, business center, air-conditioning and cable TV. The last option is the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel, which is located in the financial district. Rooms start at $249 a night.
