Spring Paint Colors for Living Rooms

Color Trends

These Spring nature-inspired paint colors for a living room, encourage you to bring the natural hues of the outdoor environment into your home. Creating a Zen-like peacefulness in your living room, using nurturing paint color tones, can help you promote a serene gathering place for family and friends.

Not only are Spring color trends mocking pastel, greens and vivid shades of nature on the ground; the sky with its varying blues and the perky, yellow brightness of the sun and daffodils are hot colors to consider when searching for paint color inspiration for the living room.

The following guide provides a look at five refreshing Spring paint colors I have researched and I am considering for reviving my tired living room:

Dutch Boy Paint – dutchboy.com 1.800.828.5669

Dutch Boy offers countless shades of Spring nature-inspired paint colors, which would rejuvenate and create a pleasant ambiance in the living room. With this long-standing company, I narrowed my preferences down to three favorite paint colors.

1-Dark Forrest – Paint Color Code Number DT112 – A beautiful shade of green, bordering on a variation of a dark sage, this is color I would use only because my living room is quite large, has lots of windows, is very bright and has a high Cathedral ceiling. The semi-dark tone might make a lesser size room appear smaller, in my opinion.

2-Brown Noddy – Paint Color Code Number DT105 – Warm and soothing paint color similar to soft mocha or an aged woodland mushroom, I consider this a comfort color suitable in a small or large living room. It is a serene paint color and one, which would add a cozy overall feel to the room.

3-Leafy Glimmer – Paint Color Code Number DT106 – An unusual bright, uplifting color best described as green partially influenced by yellow; Leafy Glimmer could easily fall into a contemporary paint color grouping, yet I see it versatile enough to accommodate any living room design. It is an interesting color and as refreshing as a Spring bouquet.

Sherwin-Williams – SherwinWilliams.com 1.800.4.SHERWIN

Sherwin-Williams, according to their website, are following the “grassroots movement” with yellow-based greens this Spring. You will also find Sherwin-Williams offering “mellow yellows,” which can be used for brightening a living room, yet still provide a tranquil feeling. I found several paint colors to my liking, but I am especially fond of the two listed below:

1-Daffodil – Paint Color Code Number SW6901 – Not as vibrant as a freshly picked Daffodil, but more on the pale side of yellow, naturally this is a hard to resist Spring paint color, especially after the dreariness of winter. A living room drenched in warm yellow is inviting and will offer a sense of peace and renewal.

2-Alexandrite – Paint Color Code Number SW0060 – The best way to describe this stunning paint color is a soft green gemstone shade gently touched with blue; sort of a cross coloring of turquoise and emerald paled down. The hue of this color, in my view, is mood setting and has a beach cottage look to it. However, I see it as an alluring Spring paint color being worked into almost living room décor.
