Scrapbook Creative Memories’ Power Sort Box

Creative Memories

Getting started on a scrapbook can be an overwhelming task if you are like me and started scrapbooking after all four of my children were grown. I want to do a book of each of them and I want to do a family scrapbook. But, where in the world, do I start.

Creative Memories is a scrapbook Company who sell on line; but, primarily, sell through local Consultants. These Consultants have crops around town, such as churches, their home, your home or anywhere else a group wants to get together and work on scrapbooks. Their products are great and the Power Sort Box will make getting started a lot easier than you thought.

A friend of mine had an “organization” scrapbook party and I was introduced to the Power Sort Box, an exclusive product of Creative Memories. It is a well-thought-through product and I would like to familiarize you with it so you can start getting organized and get busy making a scrapbook.

The Power Sort Box is approximately 14″ by 14″ and has 12 compartments. It comes with 12 dividers you can use to mark what each compartment holds. You could name one “Birth”; one “Toddler”; one “grade school”, etc. You then sit down with your photos and start dropping them into the correct compartment. The box has a lid so you can stop; cover it and put it away at any time you need to stop. If you have certificates, articles, diplomas, or other memorabilia you want to use in this book, there is a pocket in the inside lid for you to place these items into so they are handy when you are ready. The box will hold approximately 2400 photos up to 5′ x 7″ in size. Larger photos could also be stored in the pocket in the lid of the box.

When you are ready to start putting photos into your scrapbook, you don’t have to have this entire box of photos in your way because each compartment pulls out separately. Creative Memories also has smaller boxes that hold three of these compartments. This way if you decide to go to a “crop” or work with a friend at their house, you can pull out just the compartment or compartments you are working on, place them in the smaller box, put the lid on and you are ready to travel. This box will hold approximately 600 photos. If you prefer, you can buy a set of lids for the individual compartments so that you can just grab one compartment, cover it and you are ready to get to work on your scrapbook.

You can use the same setup to get ready to start scrapbooking a family album. One compartment can be “Mom”, one can be “Dad”, another “Grandparents”. Each sister or brother can have a compartment, along with nieces and nephews. Then you can have a spot for your husband or wife followed by compartments for photos of your children. In some cases you may want to sub-divide compartments to make sure you get everyone in your box and thus into your scrapbook. Perhaps you want to do a book highlighting a particular year or of your family trips. Sort them with your Power Sort Box. You can organize anything in the Power Sort Box. If you mark the titles on the dividers with pencil, they will wash off when your finish one book and you can then use them over and over again.

Both the large Power Sort Box and the smaller box have a small, clear pocket in the front where you can label them. If you decide to purchase several boxes and just sort all your photos first, you can easily identify each box.

Creative Memories products are high quality, easy-to-use products. I did a family album without knowing about the Power Sort Box or before they came out with it. Now I am organizing a new book and it is so much easier with the Power Sort Box. I would highly recommend it to someone new to scrapbooking or to a veteran scrapbooker as a wonderful organizational tool.
