Say Goodbye to Flat Limp Baby Fine Hair and Hello to Hip and Edgy Full Hair

Fine Hair

Being a professional hairdresser for many years now I always have one saying that I tell my customers and that is, always be happy for the hair you have, and work with it the best you can. I often hear a lot of people saying that they can’t do anything to their hair to make it look fuller or different. So I always tell them that this is not true and they can make their hair into any style they want, but it’s gonna take some creativity and just a little patience. It’s not gonna happen in a snap of a finger. If that was the case then we would all look like super models or actors. There is always a solution to any hair problem, you just have to find the right answer to what you are trying to achieve with your hair.

Now if you have that baby fine hair where it is so fine and limp and no matter what you do to it, ten minutes later it looks like nothing has been done to it then I highly suggest either a blunt cut with lots of layers or a asymmetrical bob. The blunt will make your hair feel and look a lot fuller than usual. I would suggest the length of this cut to be above the shoulders, because too long on this style will just do nothing to your hair. Now if you want to make that fashion statement with your hair then by all means go with the asymmetrical bob with lots of choppy layers and definition from a razor. This style will look so full but yet very trendy in todays world of hair fashion. To really pump up this style I always love to taper it short at the nape, having the sides come much longer in the front with choppy pieces through the front to create that stylish cut. So now you’re wondering well how do I keep up with these styles. Thats easy to do, all you have to do is use a volumizing shampoo and conditioner and a good texturizing paste. Remember though if you are gonna have a hip and trendy hairstyle please don’t forget you must have bangs to match. Sometimes people get such a great haircut, but their bang doesn’t match and it ends up looking funny. In my own opinion a straight across blunt bang really isn’t in style anymore. I would suggest a choppy and chipped into bang, which is very flattering to any face shape or hairstyle. All you have to do to create this type of bang is, after you get your haircut all texturized and choppy then just blow dry your hair with a vent brush, then piece out the ends of bangs with a pomade for separation. Another idea for fine hair is to get a body wave. This doesn’t mean you have to get a real tight curl to achieve this look. There is other ways to get body into your hair without putting those small perms rods into your hair, and feeling like little orphan Annie with those tight curls. You can have your hairdresser set your hair with big rollers that they use for roller sets in the salon, and have them perm your hair that way or if want want to try some techniques at home. You can place some gel into your hair while it is still wet, let it dry a little bit, and then I know this is gonna sound crazy, but you can place some chopsticks into your hair making sure the ends are all placed up and allow it to dry on its own for a hour or so. This will give you a head full of volume and curls without sticking any chemicals into your hair.

For men that have very fine hair and want it to look fuller I suggest you have your haircut around one to three inches all around with lots of texturizing and edgy layers. Please do yourself a favor and don’t have that comb over the thinning spot hair style. That style is so out and honestly serves no purpose what so ever. Another thing for men or women to do with this type of hair is to color it. I know a lot of men or women are afraid of coloring their hair, so then I would suggest to do then is to, apply a fancy full color rinse on the hair it will make the hair appear fuller and give it so much more body. These fancy full rinses come in so many different shades and are so easy to apply on your own. What I like about these rinses is, you can mix a few shades together in a plastic applicator bottle to create a more vibrant trendy color instead of just a plain old flat color. Always remember though never go too dark with your color choice, because that will make your fine hair more noticeable which you don’t want. You can find these rinses at any beauty store or food store for just under five dollars. These rinses will come out the first time you wash your hair, but with this big bottle you can get a lot of usage out of it and you can try many different shades before you decide to go permanent. Just remember getting edgy and hip doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune or go too extreme. So with that fine hair always ask for lots of layers from your hairdresser. Layers are a definite essential to men and women who have this type of hair. As long as you choose the right style for your hair, have fun with it and say goodbye to fine limp hair and hello to edgy full hair.
