Taking the little children to go visit Santa at the North Pole is a fun and exciting family trip. This article will share some of the special events at Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole. You will not have to travel out of the country for this North Pole.

At the North Pole New York, at the foot of the Whiteface Mountain you will find a quaint little village that has a workshop, reindeer barn, gift shops, snack shops and of course rides for children. Santa is always around, because this is his summer home! The North Pole village is open from the end of June right up until Christmas.

The village was founded in July of 1949 and was designed by a man named Arto Monaco, and it is a Mecca for many people around the United States who come to glimpse Santa’s workshop and to talk to the man himself. This Christmas Village sees many visitors a year and remains a popular vacation spot for families. There are nearby campgrounds, hotels, motels, and restaurants, which offer lodging and meals.

What can visitors expect when they visit? There are theaters where the Mother Goose Players entertain visitors with stories and songs of Christmas. Visit the Reindeer Barn to see the reindeer up close and personal, and visit the Blacksmiths shop to see how they really fly. Imagine the children’s eyes when they see a reindeer up close and personal.

The children can ride on amusement rides, which are perfect for the season and the perfect size as well. All the rides are free and attractions are free with paid admission, which ranges from $17.95 up to $19.95. If you get hungry while visiting there are a few snack shops where cookies and pastries can be purchased. There is even a post office on site, which parents can make use of. Once composed a letter which stamped can be canceled out and mailed anywhere in the world.

In 1973 the North Pole New York site began hosting package weekends which enabled families to come visit the park, meet Santa, stay in a hotel nearby and experience very special activities. Special events include Trim the Tree Party, which includes a guest appearance by Rowdy the Reindeer who comes to inspect the decorated tree, story telling by master story tellers, magic shows and all sorts of Christmas Magic. Visiting in this area near Wilmington New York has never been so much fun.
