The letter should always be written in business letter format. That means, you put your address on the top right hand side, and your employers name and address on the left hand side, along with the date under it.

If You’re Leaving Because You Have Found a New Teaching Job

Dear Mr.Boss,

I have enjoyed the past six years as a teacher at Estacado Elementary School. I have had a positive experience and will never forget the time I’ve spend with my students and fellow staff.

However, after carefully considering this decision, I have accepted another teaching position. I feel this is the best choice for my family.

My resignation date will be May 17th, the last day of school. I will be sure to follow necessary protocol for leaving my teaching position. Please let me know if there are additional steps to take. I have truly enjoyed working with you and my fellow teachers.
