Whenever I am on the prowl for new facial cleansers I usually buy some run of the mill cleanser that includes little micro beads for a good exfoliating rinse. I have always thought that the best clean came from a cleanser that included such little extras. Man, I was dead wrong.
I recently placed an order on La Mer products, and with just one purchase I got to chose 2 other products as trial sized samples.Besides just that though, I also was given a promo code for a 1 ounce trial sized bottle of La Mer The Cleansing Gel.
I did not have high hopes for this one, because it did not contain the micro beads that nearly all of my past cleansers have in them. Gels had never really worked well enough for me, and my skin would never feel fully cleansed after using just a gel. I figured La Mer The Cleansing Gel would offer just the same.
When my order finally came in, this magical little vial of gel had changed my mind about gel cleansers completely.
The Gel:
La Mer’s The Cleansing Gel comes in a stand up plastic see through tube. Inside you can easily see the green colored goo, and frankly it does not look like anything special.
My Use:
I dampened my face, and dabbed out around a quarter sized glob of the gel into my palm, and got to work. Immediately the gel began to foam into the most luscious foamy lather I had ever experienced. It was like silk bubbles on my face, and working the lather around was nothing short of a luxury spa like feeling.
While rubbing the silk like foam around my face, the scent hit me like aromatherapy with its gorgeous rich high quality scent that just makes you feel like you are pampering the hell out of yourself. All of these glorious feelings rush at you like a ton of bricks, all in a matter of seconds while you hover over your bathroom sink. Not too bad for a cleanser!
This gel is nothing short of amazing in my opinion. I had, for the first time found a cleanser that not just cleansed my skin thoroughly, but it actually provided a semi escape into my own little imaginary spa, right in the bathroom.
For me, this one was like a 3 in 1 product. A wonderful cleanser, a mini escape to a spa, and a soothing scent that provided a high quality session in aromatherapy. I could not have asked for more.
The gel rinses easily taking the scent with it, and leaving you with a memory of your own little pampering session with La Mer. My skin was left feeling so soft, and clean. Not a trace of residue was left behind, and the soothing refreshing feeling lasts for quite some time.
I never thought I would say this, seeing that this cleanser will run you $65.00 for 6.7 ounces, but this particular cleanser is worth every penny.
