Review of JC Penney Catalog Outlet Center Store #3004

Jc Penney, Jc Penny, Small Kitchen Appliances

If you enjoy shopping for quality merchandise and paying reasonable prices, then the JC Penny Catalog Outlet Store in Forest Park, Georgia may be just the right fit for your wallet. Neither my husband nor I are considered avid shoppers but our recent visit to the JC Penney Catalog Outlet store convinced us to plan future shopping excursions to check out newly arrived merchandise. As you approach the store, you observe customers seriously and painstakingly looking through bins located at the entrance of the store for advertised bargains for various and sundry items including shoes, clothing and house wares. The items displayed are obviously placed there to catch your attention and to draw you into the store to see the larger selection and array of items available for purchase

Variety of Merchandise

Once inside the JC Penney Catalog Outlet Store, you see a variety of items ranging from small kitchen appliances to clothing and footwear for the entire family. There is an extensive window coverings department where we purchased a set of 96″ sheer summer draperies at a hefty 25% discount for a final price of $44.99 to cover two windows. Continuing our search for bargains, we found good quality absorbent washcloths in the bathroom accessories department for just under $2 apiece. In the women’s formal wear department I found a designer gown that sells in top retail stores such as Macy’s, Nordstrom, and Saks for $20.99 after a 30% discount! That purchase made the trip worthwhile and I plan to wear the 2 piece long formal gown with its sprinkling of sequins on the bodice and front of the dress to our second annual City Ball in August. In the children’s and infants department, we found four outfits for our grandson and granddaughter that were reasonably priced all under $10 each. For children and newborns, clothing is expensive and the clothing is outgrown before the clothes wear out so the bargains are much welcomed. If possible, I would recommend that you not bring children with you while shopping at the JC Penny Catalog Outlet Center because there is no supervised play area for the children to play while you shop. The store is quite large and it would be unreasonable to expect a child not to be fidgety or cranky.

In the shoe department, there were name brand shoes and sneakers for men and women as well as children. The prices were reasonable with a plentiful inventory of shoes. The one objection I had with the shoe department is there are no seats to sit on or mirrors while trying on the shoes. However, this is a minor complaint and would not deter me from purchasing shoes. As we continued to shop we visited the menswear department where there is a large selection of name brand dress shirts, classic jerseys and pullovers, pants and accessories. My husband purchased a shirt and two neckties for under $20.00. Again, quality and style were not compromised because of the lower discounted prices.

Other departments have kitchenware, small kitchen appliances, curtains and many other household and apparel items. Anything you would expect to find in a retail store can be found in this JC Penney Catalog Outlet Center but at lower prices. Not far from this Outlet Center is a JC Penney store. We had intended to go there to make our purchases but decided to visit the Outlet Center and then go the “regular” JC Penney store. We never went because of the bargains we found at the Catalog Outlet Center.

Returns Policy

Inside the store, prominently displayed on the wall is a framed copy welcoming customers to the store and explaining the store policy on purchases and returns. In the event you need to return an item, the policy was reasonable and not at all objectionable. As with most retailers, the receipt is needed and they assure you that every attempt is made to resolve your issue to your satisfaction. A satisfied customer is the aim of their customer service policy.

Payment Methods

The JC Penney Catalog Outlet Store accepts the major credit cards-American Express, Visa, MasterCard and debit cards. A nice feature on their receipt is a listing of the amount of money saved on your shopping trip. We spent $211 and saved $41. As is my custom when I shop and have a savings, I will put that amount into my piggy bank for future use.

Helpful Information

I highly recommend the JC Penney Catalog Outlet Center in Forest Park, Georgia for your next shopping trip. I would advise that you wear comfortable shoes because the catalog center is quite large and would require a few hours to leisurely walk and look at all the departments. At the front of the store, there are a limited number of chairs but they are always occupied. There is no other seating available in the store. As you check out, the large seasonal JC Penny catalogs located on the counter are on sale for about $5.25 or so. You can shop online in the store at designated centers where you enter your selection and find out the availability of the item. The store policy guidelines state that the merchandise is either returns or catalog items that are no longer selling. As long as the item sells well in the catalog, it is not sold in the Outlet Center. Either way, the shopper is the winner and the values keep coming. We plan to visit the JC Penney Catalog Outlet Center every 4-6 weeks to check for good sales. Even with the price of gas, it is well worth the trip if you live within 2-3 hours of this JC Penney Catalog Outlet Center. The money saved will offset your transportation cost.
