From her good girl transformation to a modern, complicated woman, Rihanna has shown range as a performer, fashionista, and through genre. Rihanna has also been featured on dozens and dozens of song. Beginning with “Music of the Sun” in 2005, Rihanna made a splash with a fun dance hit, but it was unclear if she was a one hit wonder, or someone we should pay attention too. With Jay Z in her corner, we all should have known which it was. Just a year later, “A Girl Like Me” came out and garnered 3 radio hits. For many new fans, we thought these were all off the same CD, until we began buying her CDs and then we knew better.
2008 brought Rihanna’s most successful CD to date with “Good Girl Gone Bad.” The single “Umbrella” was huge and followed with 5 more popular hits. Rihanna had proven she was here to stay and was going to be one of the biggest performers of her generation. Though her personal life took center stage for the first time following this great success, Rihanna was not to be stopped. Fans grew up with her through the pain, and a new mature and seasoned Rihanna returned with “Rated R” in 2009 and “Loud” in 2010.
