Project Runway Season 4 Finalists

Project Runway

Project Runway Season 3 ended with four, rather than three, finalists making it to Bryant Park to show off their collections during Olympus Fashion Week. Fans of Project Runway may remember that there were four finalists in Season 3 as well. Who will win this season of Project Runway? Here are my thoughts.

Before we head on to the finalists for Season 4 of Project Runway let’s take a trip to the past. Here are the winners and losers who have made it to Bryant Park to show their collections for Olympus Fashion Week.

Project Runway: Season 1 Winner and Losers: Winner: Jay McCarroll Losers: Wendy Pepper and Kara Saun. I believe that most of the Project Runway viewers were rooting for Jay to win. His personality was colorful and his designs were fabulous. Wendy Pepper made herself to appear as a “bad wolf” near the end of the season and was the first Project Runway villian everyone loved to hate.

Project Runway: Season 2 Winner and Losers: Winner: Chloe Dao Losers: Santino Rice and Daniel Vosovic. Project Runway fans who watched Season 2 may remember that Chloe seemed to be headed towards dropping out of the competition. My personal favorite from Project Runway Season 2 was Daniel and I was quite shocked when he didn’t win the competition. Santino Rice was the “bad boy” of Season 2 of Project Runway with his arrogant attitude.

Project Runway: Season 3 Winner and Losers: Winner: Jeffrey Sebelia Losers: Uli Herzner, Laura Bennett, and Michael Knight. Jeffrey Sebelia was the “bad boy” of Project Runway during Season 3. However, in the end many Project Runway fans found themselves rooting for Jeffrey after Laura made accusations that he had cheated. Luckily for Jeffrey the Project Runway investigation of his cheating came with negative results.

Project Runway: Season 4 Finalists: Just as with Season 3 of Project Runway, Season 4 has produced four finalists rather than 3. While all four designers will not be showing their work at Bryant Park they all still have a chance to win. Jillian Lewis and Christian Siriano are the two designers who are a definite shoe in for the Bryant Park fashion show. Rami Kashou and Chris March will be in competition against each other for the third spot.

Season 4 of Project Runway has seen some good designs, fashion designers who should have been kicked off, designers who shouldn’t have, as well as a few disagreements. Overall this season of Project Runway has been uneventful unlike those of the past. One of the saddest moments was when Jack Mackenroth had to leave the show due to medical reasons. I really feel as if Jack could have gone on to win this season of Project Runway due to his talent. However, the band aid placed over the wound was the return of fashion designer Chris March. Chris March should feel lucky as he is now a part of the final four. If it weren’t for Jack’s departure from Project Runway Chris would be a part of the audience instead. It makes you wonder if Project Runway shouldn’t change the rules to allow designers a second chance after losing their first challenge.

Then there were moments that left fans of Project Runway scratching their heads. Such as each and every time the judges on Project Runway allowed Ricky Lizalde and Kathleen “Sweet P” Vaughn to continue on. To be fair “Sweet P” did begin improving her work near the end of the season on Project Runway, however it never should of gotten to that point. Meanwhile designers such as “Kit”, Christina Scarbo, who I felt for sure would make it to the end were kicked off of Project Runway before their time. While Kit did produce a dress not worthy of Project Runway she was still a strong enough designer that she should have went on rather than get kicked off.

As usual Project Runway Season 4 produced some characters. Chris March has been one of the most interesting designers featured on Project Runway this season. His crazy laugh, power naps, and colorful costumes made him a loveable guy. Meanwhile Christian Siriano barely survived his time on Project Runway. I cannot count how many times Christian has mentioned the words “I thought I was going to die.” this season on Project Runway. Still his designs are strong and have often won him the praise of Project Runway judges Heidi, Michael, and Nina.

And now it’s time to sit and wait. Who will be the winner of Project Runway Season 4? Will it be Chris March and his outrageous designs? Or perhaps it will be Rami Kashou and his beautifully draped garments. Christian Siriano certainly appears to be a favorite for winning this season of Project Runway. However I predict that the winner of Project Runway Season 4 will be Jillian Lewis. She may be quiet but her talent speaks for itself.
