The programs that come with the Canon Eos cameras are separate and require updating before using it with Windows Vista. I have had problems working with the EOS Utility and my Canon EOS Rebel XT without doing the several updates of all the separate programs. With the DSLR Remote Pro program all you have to use to get the Canon Eos camera working remotely is the DSLR Remote Pro program and the USB WIA driver from Canon. This is the easy way to remotely control your Canon EOS camera and do the things you want. To take professional studio quality digital photos with all the adjustments you want the Breeze Systems DSLR Remote Pro is great.

Once installed you have the sections of camera control for aperture, ISO speed, white balance and all the other settings your camera can adjust right from your computer screen. You do not need to worry about camera shake while taking that picture remotely and using the Remote Pro makes getting that white balance and aperture settings easy.

Looking at the small LCD screen on a camera for a product shot or portrait does not give you the needed focus or dimension of what the picture will look like when it is printed or used on a computer. Using a remote program like Remote Pro makes sure you have the necessary control you need to see what you are going to get in print or on the computer screen and not on the small LCD screen or through the viewer of your camera.

The Remote Pro allows you to adjust all the settings and correctly frame and position your subject normally or through the use of a grid system and even brackets that you can alter how you want. Change the color and size of the grid lines to position and keep a perfect reference for shots whether for products or group photos or even panoramic shots.

The Remote Pro allows you to sharpen images right from the computer as well as blank the screen prior to shooting pictures so light from your computers monitor does not alter the image. The settings like bracketing, focal points and continuous shooting are features that are great for my line of work, product shooting.

The free software that comes with your Canon Camera has some of the features of the DSLR Remote Pro while some are just basic versions of the more complete and fuller featured Remote Pro program. If you take product shots, portraits or studio photographs the DSLR Remote pro is the kind of fully featured remote program you need.

I highly recommend the Breeze Systems DSLR Remote Pro for remotely controlling your Canon EOS DSLR camera.
