AF – Aunt Flo (period or menstrual cycle)

AP – attachment parenting

BBT – basal body temperature

BC – birth control

BCP – birth control pill

BD – baby dance (sexual intercourse)

BF – breastfeed

BFN – big fat negative (negative pregnancy test)

BFP – big fat positive (positive pregnancy test)

BIL – brother-in-law

BM – breastmilk

CD – cloth diaper/diapering

CD – cycle day

CD – Cycle Day

CF – cervical fluid

CIO – cry it out (letting baby cry to self soothe or fall asleep on his/her own)

Circ – circumcise

CS or C/S – cesarean section

CWIM – see what I mean

D&C; – procedure performed after miscarriage (often incorrectly referred to as DNC)

DD – dear daughter

DF – dear fiance

DH – dear husband

DPO – days past ovulation

DS – dear son

DSD – dear stepson

DSS – dear stepdaughter

DTD – do the deed (sexual intercourse)

DW – dear wife

EBF – exclusively breastfeeding

EBM – expressed breast milk

EDD – estimated delivery date or estimated due date

ERF – extended rear facing (facing carseat towards the rear of the vehicle)

ETA – edited to add (used when a person edit’s their post/comment)

FF – formula feed

FIL – father-in-law

FMU – first morning urine

FT – full time

FTM – first time mom
