Though our time together was quite short
Time is of no import
I don’t feel like I missed a thing
Each day was full of blessing
It’s sad when I hear kids don’t feel the love
That fathers ought to share an abundance of
I grew up loved and cared for
I grew up feeling completely adored
I have my wonderful papa to thank
For he never failed to be there when my heart sank
I have joyful memories as well
When laughter ruled with many stories to tell
I especially remember when he closed up shop
To take me to a dance, a school sock hop
He showed me that work would never best
That his time with me was more important than even rest
He was everything a kid could ask for
Family vacations, love, laughter and more
So, there’s absolutely no reason to be sad
