Who would think about buying a pair of Plaid Chuck Taylor shoes? Well, people who love “Chucks” (me included).
Last year Plaid Chuck Taylor shoes were more readily available in terms of variety of colors and styles while 2009 seems to be a different story. However – by doing a bit of research I discovered that there are still quite a few people searching for them one way or another. So we have a (not so serious) situation of low supply and still quite a demand for these simple but stylin’ shoes.
By the way, when I say “Plaid Chuck Taylor” I am not talking about a single, “pat” design. The plaids that have been available include quite a variety of color combinations and base color patterns – each design is quite unique from the rest in the pack. For example there is a red-based criss-cross plaid and then there are black and white check plaids, blue based, pink based and more.
The sizes range anywhere from infant on up to full adult sizes, each age range having a variety of plaids available.

If there’s a low supply situation, how to go about finding what you want? I haven’t been able to find them easily in more than one pattern at one single merchant online store, but they are more available at multi-seller online resources. Here’s what I suggest:
1. eBay.com has the best supply that I’ve seen online. This is your best bet in finding a pair of Plaid Chuck Taylor shoes that really “blows your hair back”. I wouldn’t search in terms of “mens” or “womens” or even “kids” with the term since you might eliminate some good multi-size auctions that way. But – if you search for something like “All Star Plaid ” you will see a fairly nice list of auctions come up – one of which you might like to participate in and that will have a size that you’re looking for.
2. Amazon.com has the second-best availability of Plaid Chuck Taylor shoes that I’ve seen. On Amazon it seems that a similiar method of searching (not too specific) will bring up a nicer variety of shoes – some of which are available for all age ranges and sizes. Again a search for something to the effect of “All Star Plaid” will bring up a fairly nice variety of plaid shoes to choose from and most likely in a size you want.
3. If you’re interested in a fairly traditional red-based plaid, Zappos.com is a good choice for Kids, toddlers and infants.
