Photo: Fall Color Comes Early in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

Upper Peninsula

One of the benefits to living in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is that the wait for autumn’s color fest is not as long as it might be in other parts of the United States. Leaves begin to turn as early as late August in many years and by mid-September the fall color show is normally in full bloom. Depending on whether or not winter conditions decide to come early, there is usually three to six weeks of color to be enjoyed.
