Passover Crafts for Kids

Three Passover crafts showing the connection between the Passover when the angel passed over the houses with the lambs blood and Jesus our Passover lamb.

Passover of freeing the Israelites=Jesus freeing us.

Supplies you need:
Four Popsicle sticks
Red crayon
Piece of paper cut in a circle
Glue

Glue three Popsicle sticks together to make door frame. Have the child color the sticks red for the blood the Israelites painted to keep the death angel away.

Next glue the fourth Popsicle stick to the bottom to form a cave. This will be the tomb where they placed Jesus. Use the round piece of paper as the stone the angel rolled from the doorway.

Israel observes the Passover for their deliverance from slavery in Egypt. Christian’s observe the Passover as Jesus delivering us from spiritual bondage.

Supplies you need:
Picture of boy or girl hands stretched out (Link below)
Sticky tack
Small heart; white on one side, black on the other
Paper chain that reaches from one hand to the other of the picture

Have the children color the picture. Use the sticky tack to stick the paper chain to the boy/girl picture’s hands. They are slaves in Egypt. Take the chain off and use the sticky take to stick on the heart. The black side should be out. Explain that our hearts are black in slavery. Turn over to white side. Jesus sets us free.

Have the hearts cut out prior to the craft. You can either have the children color the hearts black or have them already done. For older children you could let them cut out their own heart.

The Passover celebrates the atoning blood of a spotless lamb. Its blood saved the first born of the Israelites. Jesus is our spotless lamb. His blood saves us from our sins.

Supplies you need:
Blank piece of paper with Genesis 22:8 printed on the bottom (Words of the verse at bottom)
Two Popsicle sticks
Glue
Pictures of: a lamb, a house with front door, Jesus on cross, and an empty tomb

Prior to the craft cut two slits in the paper, one on the right side high up on the paper, the other on the left side near the bottom/middle.

Have the children color the pictures. For younger children have them precut, for older ones let them cut them out. Make sure they color the blood on the door.

Glue the picture of the lamb to one end of the Popsicle stick. Glue the picture of the house on the other end.

Glue the picture of Jesus on the cross on one end of the Popsicle stick. Glue the picture of the empty tomb on the other end.

Insert the Popsicle stick with the lamb and the house in the top slit. The lamb should be out. Insert the Popsicle stick with the pictures of Jesus and the tomb in the bottom slit. Jesus on the cross should be out first. Then flip them around to show sequence of time.
