Palm Beach County, Florida: 10 Places I Recommend for Fun

Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, West Palm Beach

When people hear the word “Florida,” they immediately think of the beach. Although the beach is a lot of fun, – not to mention it’s free – there is a lot more to do in Florida than just bask in the sun. Palm Beach County, Florida, is located in the southeastern portion of the state, and it is filled with interesting and exciting sights and sounds.

Here is a list of my ten favorite places to go in Palm Beach County:

1) The Gardens Mall-

Located on PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens, The Gardens Mall is one of the nicest malls in the country. There are over 100 high end stores including big names such as Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue. The Gardens Mall also features several great restaurants and a diverse food court.

2) Roger Dean Stadium-

Located in the Abacoa development in Jupiter in the northern end of Palm Beach County, Roger Dean Stadium is a fun place to spend the day taking in a baseball game. Two major league teams– the St. Louis Cardinals and the Florida Marlins — spring train at the stadium. During the rest of the year, Roger Dean Stadium is home to the Jupiter Hammerheads. In summertime, the stadium hosts a Dog Day once a month when dog owners can bring their four legged friends to watch a game.

3) Jonathon Dickinson State Park-

Located in Jupiter, Jonathon Dickinson State Park is a great place to enjoy the natural beauty of Palm Beach County. The park is home to the Loxahatchee River and offers visitors boating, kayaking, canoeing, and bicycling.

4) City Place-

Located in downtown West Palm Beach, City Place is a beautiful outdoor complex that is home to many popular restaurants including the Cheesecake Factory and Brewzzi’s. City Place also features several bars, a movie theater, and theater where concerts are performed. There are also many stores located in City Place including Macy’s and Pottery Barn. It is a fun place to spend a day or an evening.

5) Clematis Street-

Also located in downtown West Palm Beach near the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway, Clematis Street hosts a popular weekly event called “Clematis by Night.” In addition, the street is home to several nightspots and great restaurants that are within walking distance.

6) Sun Cruz Casino-

The Sun Cruz casino sails out of the Port of Palm Beach which is located in Riviera Beach. The ship takes passengers three miles out into the Atlantic for several hours and features a buffet, plus a wide array of casino action and slot machines. It is a lot of fun!

7) Worth Avenue-

Located in ritzy Palm Beach, Worth Avenue is famous for its stores, restaurants, and celebrities that frequent the street. Although you probably won’t be able to afford anything, it’s still fun to go. Plus, you might run into someone famous!

8) Downtown at the Gardens-

Located adjacent to the Gardens Mall, Downtown at the Gardens is a new outdoor complex that is home to two of my favorite restaurants– RA Sushi and the Yard House. In addition, there is a movie theater, great shopping, and several other restaurants including the Cheesecake Factory.

9) The Norton Museum of Art-

Located in downtown West Palm Beach, the Norton is a wonderful museum that I always enjoy visiting. The collection includes American, European, Chinese, and Contemporary Art, plus much more. The museum also features exciting special exhibits!

10) Loggerhead Marine Life Center-

Located in Juno Beach across the street from the ocean, the Loggerhead Marine Life Center offers visitors an opportunity to learn about the Loggerhead Turtles that nest in the area. The nature center also includes a gift shop and a hospital for sea turtles. During nesting season, the Center hosts walks on the beach for visitors.
