Online Surveys Exposed: Can You Really Make Money Filling Them Out?

Online Surveys, Paid Online Surveys

Everyone’s opinion is very important. This is especially true if you have a product to market or sell to the public. It is important for companies to determine what catches the eye of customers. Marketing is big business. For this reason, the internet has become a virtual marketing research firm.

It seems that when you are online, everyone wants to know what you are doing. Sites track where you go online. SPAM oozes into your mailbox trying to sneak in some ploy to purchase a product or service.

Surveys are everywhere you turn when surfing the internet. Some places will even tempt you with cash and reward programs to suck you into filling out surveys over the web.

I, like many others, have seized the opportunity to snatch up a gift or two by giving my opinion. What happened after I filled out a survey or two online? My precious information was swooped up and used to bring SPAM to my inbox.

What can you do about this problem? I use a specific name to fill out online surveys. For example, if my name was Matthew Lee Smith, I would sign up for things online as Matt or Lee Smith. For everything else online, I would use Matthew Smith. This helps to know when the messages are for you or just junk from Spammers.

Many times you will receive points or credit when you complete a survey. Surveys will be worth more or less credit depending on how involved the survey becomes. Your points or credit earned will be used to redeem gifts or cash.

If you are wondering if this is a scam, it is possible. Do be cautious giving out any personal information whether online, over the phone, or by mail.

I have personally found most sites for surveys to be legitimate. I can say that I have seen my credit, or points, increase with each and every survey I complete. The gift cards or cash received are honestly real. There is a downfall to this process.

With my personal experience, I have found that surveys typically take longer to complete than I originally expected. If the prompt tells you that the survey will take ten to fifteen minutes, plan fifteen to twenty minutes from your schedule. Doing this will help.

Are the prizes and cash worth the trouble? Unless you truly enjoy filling out surveys, you will probably decide that this survey process isn’t for you. If you love the fact that your opinion is important, then go for it. Cash and prizes will take you a very long time to accumulate, but if you are looking for something to do, to kill some time, then filling out marketing surveys may be just what you are looking for in your life.

Yes, you can get cash from online surveys, but don’t bet the farm on making a million bucks in the next year or so. If you view surveys as fun and entertaining, then a nice gift card or ten bucks in the mail may be an added bonus every six months or so. It is easier for companies to take part in programs with online surveys than it is to pay for major marketing by mail, phone, etc.
