Nina Eau De Parfum for Women by Nina Ricci: Review

Apple Shape, Eau De Parfum

I’ve had Nina by Nina Ricci since Christmas, and I have no idea why it didn’t dawn on me till now to review this magical elixir of fragrance gorgeousness.

My mom bought me Nina not because I wanted it, but because she knows that I love collecting anything and everything that involves apples. I have an apple kitchen collection for my one day future home, and over the years have managed to collect anything that takes on an apple shape.

This was the reason she bought me Nina. The perfume bottle is probably the most gorgeous perfume bottle I have ever seen.

The bottle itself is (obviously) shaped like an apple. On top the bottle has silver leaves. On top of the leaves sits the small dome shaped topper. Under the topper you have a standard pump down applicator nozzle.

The apple shaped bottle is see through, but has a raspberry tint to it, to give it that genuine glass apple look. To me it looks more like a collectors piece of crystal. It’s truly stunning.

On to the perfume:

When one looks at this bottle, one expects to smell some apples. Truly that is what you get with Nina by Nina Ricci. The perfume itself smells like a fruity mix of apples, with some very light undertones of vanilla and peony petals.

To me Nina smells like a red delicious apple mixed with subtle vanilla to give it that crisp, yet warm fragrance it gives off.

Last:

I didn’t intend on using Nina daily. It’s got a very spring fragrance to it, so during the winter months I use it very sparingly. However when I get perfume, I always test it to see if it has any kick to it. Basically…I want to discover just how long the perfume will last when it comes to fragrance.

A lot of fruity scented fragrances smell gorgeous, sadly a lot of them don’t last for more than a few minutes after applying them.

Nina though is in a whole new ball park when it comes to long lasting fruity fragrance. A few small squirts to your clothing, and you will be smelling like a basket of apples for quite a few hours.

Nina does not last until the next day, but it does have a last that will linger for the entire day. Spraying Nina directly on skin will not last as long as spraying it on clothing though.

Pricing:

I have no clue where my mom found Nina, or what price she paid for it. After looking Nina up online though, I was able to locate the perfume at Bloomingdales for $52.00 for a 1.7 ounce bottle. In my opinion, the bottle alone is worth that price.

Overall:

I’m very fond of the scent, but honestly I’m even more fond of the bottle. The apple shaped glass with it’s raspberry tone is simply gorgeous, and is a sure pleaser for the apple collector, who loves the scent of apples, and who collects apple products.
