New Developments Between Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry Claiming He is a Victim

It wasn’t a pleasant Thanksgiving Day for Halle Berry. Both her current boyfriend, Oliver Martinez, and her former boyfriend Gabriel Aubry fought in front of her home resulting in a restraining order placed on Aubry. The restraining order was to stay at least 100 yards away from Halle, her new fiancé, and Aubry’s four-year-old daughter.

Aubry has been coined a hothead, but he is claiming that he really is the victim here. Martinez allegedly slammed Aubry’s head into the concrete and threatened to kill him. Nevertheless, according to Hollywood life.com, Aubry will have to take anger management courses to be able to see his daughter.

HollywoodLife.com also spoke with Armand Montiel with Child Protective Services in Los Angeles who told them, “When the CPS is sent to investigate, all parties involved are questioned. Once the child is above the age of 3 or 4 – if they are at an age where they can talk – a limited interview is had with them. We asked them what happened. If is deemed necessary that the child should be removed from their custodial parent, then we do that, and they are usually placed with a relative. If it is decided that the care the child is receiving is not adequate, then a detention hearing will happen. At the detention hearing, the custody of the child will be decided by the judge.

We know that child safety and well-being is the most important issue here, but what about the mental health of Halle Berry who is caught up in the not so pleasant triangle?

Relationships can be difficult to maintain and even more difficult when the couple breakup. The arguments and fights take its toll on both parties and are intensified when there are children involved. The projected statistics for divorce rates in America is between 40-50 percent. According to Jennifer Baker of the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri, the rates go up as the number of marriages goes up. There is approximately 50 percent divorce rate for a first marriage, 67 percent rate for a second marriage and a 74 percent divorce rate for a third marriage. The stats will vary from site to site.

One would think that after a failed first marriage the second marriage would be more secure; judging by the stats this is not the case.

Where does that leave Halle Berry? The woman certainly doesn’t have a handle on a good marriage or is it simply her choice in men?

It can be said that Halle is unlucky in love. Her marriage to David Justice, a former baseball player, began in 1993 and ended in 1996; a short marriage by any definition. This breakup was so severe and traumatizing for her that she contemplated suicide. Her second marriage to Eric Benet a rhythm and blues, neo soul singer, lasted four years from 2001 to 2005.

The boyfriends started with the French Canadian model Gabriel Aubry. Halle began dating him November 2005. This relationship was more complicated than the others in that a child, a little girl called Nahla Ariela Aubry was born in 2008.

We have all read about the bitter custody suit that occurred after the couples’ breakup in 2008. Halle Berry is currently dating another Frenchman from France by the name of Oliver Martinez since 2010.

In light of recent events, the battle is going beyond custody to the battle of the boyfriends. No doubt there is a lot of stress and tension between the three adults involved. We don’t know yet if any of this has affected Nahla.
