Naot footwear is a line of shoes that are known for their comfort and durability that make shoes for women, men and children.
The Naot brand is made in Israel and come in European sizes. The styles only come in one standard width. Women’s styles start at size 35, approximately a 4 and come in every full size up to 42, approximately an 11. A select few of women’s styles are carried in every full size up to 44, approximately a 13. The men’s styles start at size 40, which is approximately a 7, and continue in every full size up to size 49, approximately a 16. Children’s size range from 27 and every full size up to 34, which are approximately sizes 9 to 3.
Naot’s best feature is their cork foot bed. Once the shoe is worn the cork foot bed begins to mold to the foot giving the foot excellent support. Unlike other well-known brands that feature cork foot beds, Naot put a layer of cushion over the top of the cork foot bed to make the break-in period more comfortable. Although, Naots should be worn only a few hours at a time for the first few times while the foot bed begins to mold to the foot.
The cork foot bed is removable in several styles, which allow the shoes to accommodate orthodics. Select styles of Naot sandals also come with a removable foot bed that creates enough room for orthotics. This is a unique feature for sandals and is often a rare option for sandal lovers that must wear custom orthotics. Although, the cork foot bed is what makes Naots comfortable and affects the price of the shoe so they may not be the most practical shoes to purchase for orthotic use. Some wearers that have only half-length or three-quarters length orthotics will cut the foot bed to use along with their orthotic. The foot beds are also replaceable. A shoe repair store may be able to order new insoles for most styles with removable or permanent foot beds and most styles of Naots can be resoled by a shoe repair store.
Naot carries several different lines of footwear including sandals, boots, work shoes, and waterproof garden clogs along with their casual, everyday shoes. Their styles come in a variety of leathers and suede. They have also been known to feature fabrics such as tweed. Some of their lines such as Wasabi and Scandinavian are hand sewn. There are lines for all kinds of life styles from Wild Life to Metropolitan. And although, the brand only makes one width size, styles like those featured in the Campus collection, for men and women, are made with a wider base.
