I broke down and visited a higher end shoe store. My reasoning, I have big feet for a woman. I wear a size ten. I have always had trouble finding shoes. My last pair of tennis shoes was men’s shoes. I don’t really have any other necessary concerns except size.
I was in search of brown leather every day casual shoes I could wear with socks. I looked around and was told they carried my size in almost every thing I saw. So I began to pick what visually interested me. This was my first fault. After trying them all on, I found we needed to approach this from the angle of what felt best.
I was given a few varieties and colors to try. I ended up with the Jolie from Munro. It isn’t really a brown leather casual shoe. It is casual and probably more on the side of a tennis shoe than a casual every day shoe. But boy are they comfortable. And worth every penny I paid for them and I paid about three to four times more than I would have normally spent on a shoe.
I can’t say I am cheap, but these were a bit beyond what I would normally pay. With that said, I would definitely buy another shoe style from Munro the next time I am in the market for shoes. My feet and my comfort are worth the price tag. Their website has a slogan, “Fit Comes First”. If you have ever worn an uncomfortable shoe for a longer length of time, you know exactly what they are saying and how important comfort and fit are to your feet.
Munro American carries a variety of styles. Their current fall collection consists of thirty-seven pairs of shoes ranging in style from a very casual tennis style through calf high boots to dress shoes and sandals. The colors and styles are current and not ultra conservative while I would not call them cutting edge designer style either.
Size is a priority. Munro designs shoes for a wide range of sizes. There are seventy five different combinations ranging from width SS (AAAA) through WW (EE); and size 4 to 14 with a variety of half sizes also. The use of superior materials assists in the quality of the design’s execution and their specialized manufacturing techniques. All their styles are manufactured and assembled in the United States.
Munro and Company is located in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
