Ultrastar Theater La Costa 6 is probably the most exciting and innovative movie theater in all of North San Diego County. Located on El Camino Real in La Costa, this movie theater features pure digital cinema on all of their screens. Ultrastar theaters also offer many special events ranging from live concerts to comedy shows, and even ballet and opera programs which are broadcast right onto the a cinema. Also the Ultrastar La Costa 6 participates in both the KidToon and Parent Movie Mornings family friendly programs offered by Ultrastar Theaters. These innovative programs offer kids friendly programming, lowered volumes, and even changing rooms right in the auditorium. Ultrastar even offers a rewards program. Great stuff!

Regal Cinemas Oceanside 16 is a beautiful movie theater located within central downtown Oceanside and only a block’s walk from the famous Oceanside Pier This movie theater boasts 16 screens all of which feature premium seats with reclining armrests and drink holders and a THX surround sound system. There is a nice sized arcade amusement center on the premise as well as a large and well staffed multi-stationed concession stand. Movie show times usually run from around 10:00 am till 11:00 pm and Regal Crown Club Rewards can be accumulated and redeemed at this location.

Edwards San Marcos Stadium 18 has been serving most of the North East county of San Diego for over a decade now. Located near the renowned local landmark of Restaurant Row in San Marcos is this large scale 18 screen theater. Although a bit older, this theater has been kept up to par with upgraded seating and cinema audio. There is plenty of parking and show times usually begin around 10:00 AM and run until a little after11:00 PM.

Krikorian Metroplex 15 at Vista Village located right off Highway 78 in the beautiful Vista Village makeover project is this newer state of the art cinema complex. All 15 screens are shown in digital projector format allowing for better picture quality. Show times vary and can start as early as around 9:00 AM for new blockbuster movies, but generally movies are shown between the hours of 10:00 AM – 10: PM. Krikorian also features a rewards club program which you may want to look into if you plan on visiting this theater frequently.

Movie Max Theater Plaza Camino Real is a smaller 4 screen luxury theater in Carlsbad, located right across the street from the Plaza Camino Real Westfield Mall. Although small in comparison to many theaters that exist today, the Movie Max cinema in Carlsbad is one of the nicest theaters in the area! All four of the cinemas located within this venue are well maintained and kept up to date. The prices are also a bit less expensive than other theaters, and in fact this location offers the cheapest matinee in the area! The only real downside to this theater is that the parking lot can get a cramped at times.

Cinema Star Mission Marketplace 13 located conveniently at the crossroads of Highway 76 and College is this good sized movie theater. While this theater is a bit older, it has been kept up well and regularly renovated. The 13 cinemas have had the seating replaced with ones that feature reclining armrests with drink holders, and the sound systems are also up to date digital surround systems. There is a good sized amusement center at this movie theater complex, but the concession stand is rather small for a theater this size with only a couple of staffed stations. Movies start from about 10:00 with the final shows starting around 11:00 PM.
