Mitchum Cool Dry Deodorant for Women Versus Degree Deodorant for Women

Mitchum Cool Dry Deodorant for Women Versus Degree Deodorant for Women

I have used Mitchum deodorant for approximately ten years. It is more expensive than some other brands, but has always been worth the extra expense to me because of how well it works. Other brands I tried had never given me the quality performance that Mitchum Cool Dry consistently provided. Recently, I saw a coupon for Degree deodorant. I had never tried this brand, so I decided to suspend using my usual brand and give the cheaper Degree a try.

My first task when choosing which type of Degree to buy was to decide on a scent. When I purchase Mitchum Cool Dry, it is usually in either the Powder Fresh or Shower Fresh scent. Both of these are pleasing, clean smelling scents that are not overpowering and don’t interfere with perfume or other scented products when I choose to wear them. I finally decided on a Degree scent called Fresh Oxygen. It smelled clean and did not appear to be too strong.

The package of Degree for Women stated that it goes on clear and won’t leave marks on your clothing. I was doubtful, since the deodorant stick looked very much like other white solids in the past that have left unsightly streaks on my clothes. My usual Mitchum Cool Dry solid is also white, but is of a different consistency than other deodorant solids and definitely goes on clear. I opened the stick of degree and applied it to my underarms. It went on mostly clear, with just a few white streaks that quickly disappeared. The scent was a little stronger on my body than it had been in the package, but it was still not overpowering. I did not notice any white streaks transferring to my clothing as I pulled my shirt over my head.

I tend to perspire quite a bit, so the real test for Degree came as I went forward with my day. My job sometimes requires a good deal of lifting and moving large items, and this happened to be a day full of lifting and moving. Mitchum Cool Dry deodorant has never failed me on days like this. I have never suffered embarrassing wet spots at my armpits or found myself smelling bad when using Mitchum on a normal work day. The Degree deodorant did a good job of keeping wetness at bay. I did not find any wet spots on my shirt under my arms. During my lunch break, I discreetly did a “sniff test” on my armpits. All I was able to smell was the Fresh Oxygen scent of my deodorant. The scent seemed to have intensified, if anything.

As I was undressing for my bath that night, I checked the inside of my shirt for white marks. There was a slight amount of the Degree deodorant visible on the inside of the underarms of my shirt. Mitchum Cool Dry does not leave any residue on my clothing whatsoever. I washed the shirt later in the week, and the white marks came out with no problem at all and did not cause any discoloration in the fabric.

Overall, I was pleased with the performance of the Degree deodorant. It worked well and left minimal residue on my clothing. After using it for several weeks, I have decided that the scent is a bit stronger and more noticeable than that of Mitchum Cool Dry. Once the tube is gone, I will probably go back to using my regular brand, Mitchum. Even though it is more expensive, I know it to be reliable and effective. Still, Degree has proven itself to me to be a quality, effective product. I will definitely consider using it again.
