Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie Review

Chicken Pot Pie, Marie Callender, Pot Pies

Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie tastes like it’s made from scratch with a golden, flaky crust. I was excited to try the Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie for my review because I prefer white meat chicken.

I was also pleased with the generous amount of chicken and nice chopped pieces of celery and carrots. The Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie recipe also includes peas.

The filling is rich and creamy which worried me from a dieting perspective. Chicken pot pies are great on cold winter days. Although they are a great comfort food, chicken pot pies are not typically low fat.

Here’s what I learned about from my Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie review:

No. 1: Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie calories: One pie, which includes a top and bottom crust, has 650 calories. For those on a diet, I highly recommend eliminating part of the crust or eating only half of the pie.

No. 2: Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie fat: One serving has 38 grams of fat. Most of the fat is probably in the crust. If you have half a pie, it’s 19 grams of fat, which is still high.

No. 3: Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie nutritional facts: 1000 mg sodium, 4 grams fiber, 4 grams sugar, 17 grams of protein.

No. 4: Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie vitamins: The product does contain 30 percent of the recommended Vitamin A; 2 percent Vitamin C; 8 percent Vitamin E; 20 percent iron and more.

No. 5: Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie ingredients: chicken broth, enriched wheat flour, white meat chicken, soybean oil, water, carrots, peas, celery, modified corn starch, onions, whipping cream, salt, nonfat dry milk, chicken broth powder, yeast extract, black pepper, caramel color and other ingredients.

Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie is a rich treat for dieters or a great comfort food for teenagers and those who aren’t on low-fat or calorie-restricted diets. I have found people in my family are in the mood for chicken pot pies in the colder months or when they have a cold.

Bake in the oven (using a cookie sheet) at 400 degrees for 45 minutes or cook in a microwave for 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 minutes. I wrap the crust edge with aluminum foil for best results.

For taste I give the Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie 4.8 out of 5 stars.

Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie is certainly delicious with a flaky crust that compares to homemade.
