Making your own birth announcements is not only a lot of fun to do, but it is also a very simple process. The best thing to do to save yourself some time and energy is to start making your photo birth announcements before the baby arrives. This way, once the baby arrives, you are all ready to just add the picture and send.
You will first need to purchase some cardstock paper at your local arts and crafts store. You can also purchase some stamps or baby stickers that will add a special touch to your photo birth announcement. At most arts and craft stores you will find that the card stock paper comes in different designs so choose the one that you like the best. Once you have purchased your paper and any additional items you are ready to take them home. You will need a printer in order to print out your beautiful invitations. You can open a use a simple word processes in order to type up the wording for the photo birth announcement.
Your introduction on the announcement can be anything you like. A lot of moms like to put something like we welcome a new addition to the family and then under that put the babies name. Since you are preparing these invitation in advance you may want to leave the name part blank. If you already know the sex of the baby and have a name all picked out than you should go ahead and add it. Make sure that you leave an empty space that would be big enough to add your photo of the baby. After you have created your invitation and are ready to print test it on a plain white piece of paper to make sure that it is lined up properly. You can then print out as many photo birth announcements as you need or you can save it and have someone else print after you have inserted the picture.
When it comes to inserting the photo you have two options. You can use a digital camera to take pictures of the baby after they are born and have a friend or family member upload the pictures to your computer. Once they have uploaded the picture they can insert it into the cared you already created simply by copying and pasting. Once this is done they can easily print out the invitations using the card stock you purchased. Or if you prefer you can print them all out ahead of time and then have someone take pictures at the hospital. After you have your picture you can get them developed, purchasing several of the smaller sizes and just glue them to the birth announcements. Once the glue is dry you can send them to all of your family and friends. Make sure you or the person doing the announcements for you remember to add the stickers or the stamp design that you purchased.
