A common problem for iTunes users today is creating an account. While registering, a credit card is needed which causes a problem for those who do not have one or are unwilling to put it on iTunes. Fortunately, there is another way. This article will show you how to do this in 5 easy steps.
Download iTunes
To begin, iTunes will need to be downloaded onto the computer for those who do not already have it. This is very simple and only takes a matter of minutes. You can find the download on the Apple website and all you need to do is click on the Download Now button.
2. Go to the iTunes Store
Once iTunes has been fully downloaded, open it by clicking on it’s icon. You can access the iTunes Store by clicking on the link on the left marked iTunes Store. This will lead you to the store where you can buy music, apps, movies etc. but before you can buy any of those, you will need an iTunes account.
3. Buy a free App
The only way to create an iTunes account without giving your credit card number is to buy a free App. To do this, we need to click on the link at the top of the store marked App Store. This will lead us to a page where all the Apps are sold. Now, scroll own until you see the Free Apps chart on the far right. Hover over any App that you wish to buy and click on the Free button.
Once you click the Free button, a pop-up will open asking you to sign in with your Apple ID or to create an Apple ID. Click on the button Create Apple ID, which will lead you to the registration page. Fill out all of the criteria and once you get to the payment page, you will notice that in the section marked Please select a payment method, one of the options is None. When you select that, all you need to fill out is your billing address. No need for a credit card number or Paypal account.
5. Verify your account
The final step to this procedure is to verify your account. Log onto your email and you will notice that a verification email has been sent to you. Open the message and click on the link, which will lead you back to iTunes where you must log in to your account.
Now that you have an iTunes account, you can buy any free movie, app, song, etc. If you would like to pay for one of their products, but still don’t want to put in your credit card number, all you need to do is buy an iTunes gift card. These are sold at most Drugstores and Grocery stores and are very simple to use.
