Macy’s the Cellar Dinnerware Review

Dinnerware, Holiday Entertaining, Vegetable Dishes

A recent purchase of 8 place settings of The Cellar Square Dinnerware from Macy’s has proved to be a smart but affordable investment. The Cellar is a line of “basics” offered by Macys, and includes dinnerware, serving pieces and glassware to keep your dining room looking fresh and stylish. Creating a pleasing modern table setting can be difficult, as lines of casual dinnerware tend to cater to the country niche, but The Cellar Square dinnerware is sophisticated and elegant. The clean lines and stark whiteness of the plates and bowls looks modern and edgy on my dining table. While the price is clearly affordable, the pieces appear anything but. Solid weight and substantial construction trick guests into believing they are top quality pottery pieces.

The Cellar also offers coordinating serving pieces including a vegetable dishes, a lasagna pan, pasta bowls and tabletop items like a butter dish. While a collection of these sleek modern serving dishes may seem like an overwhelming amount of solid white, filled with food they have a classy, high end restaurant feel. All the serving pieces and dishes are heat safe, which allowing you to go from oven to table with a style that pyrex simply doesn’t offer. Dishes are also microwave and dishwasher safe for the ultimate in attractive convenience.

While these high style dishes are sure to meet your casual entertaining needs, sometimes a special evening calls for a little something extra. Macy’s continues to expand on The Cellar line, and releases seasonal patterns in graphic modern prints to break up the monotony of white and give your table setting a little sparkle. Recent additions include a set printed with a cobalt berry motif for springtime, and a red graphic print suitable for casual holiday entertaining. A black and white paisley pattern is also available for those who wish to keep things looking very clean. No matter what the season I will be sure to continue collecting The Cellar Dinnerware from Macy’s as long as they produce it.
